"Do I really have to go alone?" I say as grandma fixes my clothes, "yes you do, you know grandma has bible study today" she says and I sigh, "don't think so much, it will be fine" she says and I nod. "Ok grandma gone pray for you, now get going. Love you" "love you too".

"Hey Y/N!" I hear from behind me. "Your not going to school?" "Yeah my new school" "it's today?" "Yep, I'm going there right now" "well alright, good luck..oh and I'm coming over so when you get back tell me all about" he says before running off.

I made it to the school and must I say this school is huge, I think I even saw a pool. "Ok here it goes" I say before opening up the large door.

I start to walk around but sooner of later I get lost. I pass this big window that had lots of kids playing tennis, dodgeball and volleyball. But as I look into the window I see three girls look at me, like there angry but I bush it off because they probably lost a game or something. "Hey!" I hear from behind, "who are you?" a dark headed white girl asks me, "well I'm Y/N Y/L-" "cut the gas, you didn't answer my question" "well I'm transferring to this school and-" "that's a tale and you know it, only whites go here not...negros" "I'm not lying, I'm looking for-" "save it, just get out of here before someone catches you" she says as she leaves, "ok" I say as I turn around to be met with the office. "You must be Y/N?" "Yes I am" "ok have a seat, Mr. Washington will be right out" she says and I nod.

"You must be Y/N?" "Um yes yes I am" "great, now follow me" he says. "Your grandmother has told me a lot about you" "I hope they where all good things" I say and he chuckles, "oh yes great things, do you know your grandmother was my nanny?" "Really?" "Yep, she took care of me and my siblings like her own" "yeah my grandma is amazing" "she truly is and I'm glad you recognize that" he says as we stop in fort of a class,"is this going to be my class?" "No just a pit stop" he says as he opens the door. "Hi class" he says and the class says hi back, "we have a new student at this school" he says as he waves me over, "this is Y/N, and she need a tour of our lovely school, so I need a volunteer to show her around, by a show of hands who would like to be her tour guide?" He asks and no one raises there hand, as I look around I see the white girl that told me to leave earlier, "Mary would you please step outside the class room?" he says as she gets up.

"I want you to show Y/N here around" "but daddy I can't", daddy? "And why can't you Mary?" "Because, I don't know the school like that" "oh who doesn't know the school better then my daughter", daughter? "It's not up for a debate, you will show our newest student here around, am I clear?" "Yes" "good, now go on" he says as he shoves us. "Hey look you don't have to show me around" "just zip it and stay close" she says as she begins to walk.

"And this is the library, any questions?" "Um yeah I-" "I didn't want you to ask any question, so tour over" she says as she walks away. "Hey where are you going?" "to my next class" "well can you show me where the exit is?" I say as the bell rings and kids begin to leave out there classrooms.

I arrive back home to see Robert waiting on my stoop, "Your back earlier" he says, "yeah, it was just a tour" I say as we enter my house. "So what happened?" He says while laying on my couch, "would you get off my couch with your shoes?, My grandma will kill us if she saw that" I say as I push his feet, "sorry" "when I got there I got lost because how big the school was, so I started to walk around till I go though this hallway, where you can see the gym though big windows, and as I was walking I see three girls looking at me with angry looks on there faces, but I bush it off till-" "before you continue, where they cute?" "What? No look can I finish?" "Alright" "thank you, but back to what I was saying, right till this white girl with dark hair comes up to me and asks me what am I doing there, and I told her but she told me to cut the gas" "really, who was she?" "I don't know, I didn't get her name, but the man that owns the school is her father" "oh so daddy's little girl?" "I guess but here's the kicker, she called me a negro" "oooh, that must have got you heated?, right?".

"Y/N?, What did you do?" "I stood there" "aww come on Y/N" "I'm sorry it it just it happened so fast, and I didn't want to start trouble at this new school" "ok that's acceptable, but you can't keep letting people boss you around and call you names" "I know" I say as I lean back into the couch. "So when do you start?" Robert asks as he leans back into the couch as well, "next week" "you know I'm gonna miss you right?" "It's not like I'm moving" "I know that goof, but I'm going to miss you at school" "oh, right" I say as we get silent, "wanna play candy land" "hell yes I do" he says as we rush upstairs to my room.
