The darkness was consuming the brightness of the scintillating moonlight and here she was standing at the bay. One more step and she will be consumed by the darkness.

As she stood at the edge of the bay, a sense of both awe and despair washed over her. The scintillating moonlight that had once bathed the world in its ethereal glow now seemed feeble against the encroaching darkness. It was as if the night sky itself had turned against her, swallowing any remaining brightness that dared to defy its dominion.

With every passing moment, she could feel the pull of the darkness growing stronger, beckoning her with an eerie allure. Yet, she hesitated, torn between the unknown allure of the abyss and the remnants of hope that flickered within her heart.

She knew that one more step into the abyss would mean surrendering herself entirely to the consuming embrace of the shadows. It would mean surrendering all that she held dear-the love, the laughter, and the dreams that had once filled her life with purpose. But as she stood there at the precipice, she couldn't help but be drawn to the mystery that lay before her.

There was a strange beauty in the ever-expanding darkness, an irresistible temptation that whispered promises of liberation from her daily struggles and pains. It promised an escape from the burdens of existence and a respite from the overwhelming weight of the world. The thought of surrendering to its alluring embrace became an ever-present temptation, clouding her thoughts and clouding her judgement.

Her hands trembled and tears brimmed at the bay. She was just one step away from her past. Her past was waiting for her. A past which she never wanted to face in all these eight years. He was waiting for her inside. But he wasn't someone she knew before, he was someone stranger to her now.

His aura, his demeanour everything was a contrast and a reflection of what she had turned him into!

Her heart pounded in her chest, torn between fear and curiosity. She had spent years trying to forget, to escape the memories of their togetherness. Yet, here she stood, on the precipice of confronting the darkness that had consumed both their lives.

Taking a deep breath, she summoned the strength to take that final step. As her finger touched the bell, the echoes of her past rushed towards her, threatening to engulf her in their grip. But she refused to let them overpower her.

She walked into the dimly lit room, her eyes adjusting to the gloom. There he stood, a shadow of the person he used to be, his eyes filled with remorse and sorrow. Time had etched lines on his face, evidence of the burden both had carried.

She searched his face for traces of the person she once knew, but all she found was a stranger bearing her pain. The years had transformed them both, leaving behind scars that refused to heal.

Words hung heavy in the air, the weight of their shared history weighing them down. Yet, she found solace in the realisation that the darkness had not consumed her entirely. She was stronger, wiser, and ready to face the demons of her past.

Summoning her courage, she spoke softly, breaking the suffocating silence. "I am here!"

His laugh echoed in the air as the lights turned on. Her eyes squinted and she closed her lashes, adjusting her vision to the brightness that had filled the room.

A few moments later, she blinked her eyes and saw his tall figure standing at the bar counter, shirtless with a glass of wine between his slender fingers.

His eyes appeared to be red and intoxicated as if he was entirely consumed by his darkness. The water drops trickled down from his hair, sliding over his chiselled chest as his spicy fragrance filled her senses, making her gulp and she didn't even notice when he was standing in front of her.
