The next five months passed by in a blur. Eric didn't let me go to public school again, but he let me be home schooled. I couldn't get out of the palace much, so he let me invite Serena and Ashley over from time to time.

I was sprawled across the couch as Serena and Ashley debated over what movie to watch.

"We should watch Cinderella." Serena suggested.

"No, I don't like that one. I want to watch something scary, like Insidious." Ashley countered.

"No scary movies, Ashley!" I shouted.

"Fine." she grumbled.

"Hunger Games? That's a good one."

"Serena, you always watch Hunger Games. I'm pretty sure that you know it by heart." Ashley mocked.

"How about a comedy?" I offered.

"Ooh! Miss DoubtFire is hilarious! Let's watch that!"

Serena and I shared a look, knowing that this was the movie.

"Put it in." I said, pointing towards the screen. They put it in then came rushing over to me and sat down on either side of me.

About an hour later, the credits rolled onto the screen. I slowly stood up and stretched my arms up above me. There was a knock at the door and a butler walked into the room and gave me a deep bow.

"Your Majesty, King Williams would like to see you. He is in his study." He bowed again and left the room just as quickly as he appeared.

"Sorry guys. Looks like our marathon will have to wait."

"It's okay. Just go, we'll just pop in another movie while we wait." Ashley replied.

I smiled my thanks and walked to Eric's study. I knocked three times and walked in. "You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, I did. Can you take a seat?"

"Of course." I took the seat in front of his dark red-wood desk. There were bookshelves that surrounded the room that matched his desk. There were few windows in the room, but in their place there were pictures of exotic places and his family.

"Lacey, I decided to hire you a tutor."

"But, I already have one. It's Mrs. Steele. Why would I need another one?"

"No, no. This isn't just any tutor, this is a Jumper tutor. He's here to teach you how to use and control your powers."

"Okay, I can respect that."

He pressed a button on his phone and spoke into the receiver. "Luke, can you send the tutor to my study?" Once his secretary responded, Eric slapped down the phone and turned back to me. "It's going to be a minute until he gets here."

"Okay." I looked out one of his few windows into the garden. There were birds flying from tree to tree and humming birds hovered over flowers. I sighed at the beauty of the gardens, appreciating all of the work everyone puts into it.

There was a knock at the door and Eric called him in. My eyes were fixed on the door, wondering who my new tutor would be. My eyes widened in surprise when I saw who it was.

"K-Kyle?" I stuttered. Kyle ran over to me and wrapped me up in a hug.

"I've missed you, kid."

"What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here!"

Kyle pulled out the hug and smirked at me. "Mom and Dad sent me to get you."

"But-"

"Lacey," Kyle said, cutting me off. "You've been gone for a year. We all thought that you would figure out how to use your powers by now, but now I see why you didn't." Kyle then glared at Eric.
