Chapter 8 || Dreams do come True.

Dylans POV:

9:48am

I woke up in the Void and Adam was no where to be seen. I got so nervous to the point of when I awakened in my bed I jumped out and immediately  changed into some jeans and a navy blue hoodie. I had to walk since my mom didn't want to take me anywhere. Once I arrived at Amelia's doorstep the door swung open and Asher leaned against the doorframe. "So what? You're a relative of this guy or?" Asher questioned.

"Uh , an old friend." I answered confidently. "Ive never seen Amelia so...Serious..." Asher said nervously. Before I could reply the garage door opened and there sat Amelia in her car. It was fucking pink. "Oh god." I stated before looking down. "Get in bitches!" Amelia shouted. Asher and I got in the back and and soon as we were in, she sped out of that place as if there was a monster chasing us. "Buckle up!" Amelia stated rather confidently as if nothing bad would happen.

She sped alright. "Slow down idiot!" Asher screamed as we took a sharp turn causing me to crash into him. "What the fuck  Amelia! Are you trying to kill us!?" Asher questioned loudly as she took another swerve causing Asher to crash into me. She then slowed down.

 Asher and I breathed heavily as she drove slower down the remaining roads. She started to be more serious. The drive wasn't extremely long . I thought about how Adam didn't appear in the Void. I was worried about him. As we continued to drive , i felt a bit of tension arising.

A dark eery feeling consumed me , something felt off. "Hey Amelia?" I questioned quickly. "Mhm? Whats up kid?" She answered while looking in the rear mirror to see me. "You and Adam. Did you guys ever , y'know..." I quickly questioned , trying to strike a conversation. "Nope. I wouldn't let him lay a finger on me."  She said as she looked away, focusing on the road.

 "You wouldn't let him? So he tried to touch you?" I immediately questioned feeling a bit confused. "Nah I guess we just really close and sometimes we had our weird moments." Amelia said , clearly not wanting to go into detail. Asher then flicked me. I turned to look at him. "Your not this guys friend or relative are you."

He stated looking at me awkwardly as if he didn't even seem convinced by my excuse. "Of course I am. Why else would I-" I cut myself off. He was catching on. He stared at me with one of those dead stares. It made me a bit uncomfortable. He continued to stare and I was about to spill the truth. "Asher stop bothering Dilly , you look like your bout to kiss him." Amelia blurted out while looking through the rear mirror. "What!? Ew!" Asher barked  reaching over me to hit Amelia's arm. 

The drive was long and boring. Amelia and Asher just kept arguing about stupid small things like who did the dishes and who last fed the goldfish. I on the other hand was more worried about Adam who had disappeared from my mind. Without a single word he was gone. Before I could think anymore I dozed off. 

As I felt myself enter the Void I opened my eyes , it felt warmer and the blackness turned into a dark greyness. I knew something was off. "Adam! It's Dylan! Are you here!?" I yelled , desperate for a reply. "Heya Dylan" A voice came from behind me. I jumped. "Holy shit A." I said trying to calm my heart rate down. 

"Yea. Um so..." He stopped speaking for a second, I looked up at him , he seemed to be thinking. I then noticed how the bottom half of him was...glitching? "Adam whats going on with your legs and stuff. "Oh! Well ever since you kinda decided to look for me , The Void has been acting up."

 "You look paler A." I pointed out. "Well what do you expect D! Im in a fucking Coma!" He barked. His chest was moving up and down quickly and I could see the worry on his face. Without thinking I wrapped my arms around him. Tightly. I felt his breathing slow down as he buried his face in the crook of my neck.

 "Im sorry." he muttered. "I know you're scared Adam but trust me. It will be ok." I spoke softly. The Void became warmer and before I could say anything I woke up to something hitting my head. 

"Wake up bozo we're here." Asher stated as he pointed to Amelia who was outside the car waiting for me. I opened the car door , jumped out and shut it. "Wow hey Dilly! No rush." Amelia stated looking at me confused. 

"Right uh hospitals make me nervous..." I lied. She ignored me and started walking towards the entrance. It sure was a big hospital. She then grabbed my hand as we walked to the front desk. 

"Hiya Brenda , Im here to see Adam again. This is my lil friend Dylan by the way but don't worry , he's not sick or anything like that, see ya later!" Amelia quickly grabbed me as she led me down a hall. We stood outside an elevator and waited , for a while. 

Sooner or later the doors opened and we got in. "Hey Dilly you're not actually Adams friend are you. You suck at lying" "I figured. Im just a boy he met a while back." I lied. "Oh well I mean at least you know him." She replied. At least she didn't realise that was also a lie. The elevator doors then opened.

 As we stepped out , there was doctors and nurses running everywhere in panic. One of the doctors stopped to look at Amelia. "Oh my goodness Amelia , Adam just broke out in a fever and he's seizing." The doctor tried to state as calmly as possible.

 "Seizing!? Well whats going to happen!?" Amelia questioned in a panic. The doctor couldn't say more as he started running down the hall. I felt a panic rise but I didn't want to show it. I felt tears well up in my eyes as I tried to keep the panic down. Amelia dragged me to the waiting area. As we sat down I started to worry more as each second flew by. 

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours. Amelia then searched her bag and pulled out a few coins and dollars. She then passed it to me. "I gotta take Asher home Dilly. I think you should wait here incase anything else happens."  I nodded as I took the money. "Incase you get hungry." She stated as she walked away.

 I sat there in silence, thinking. It was something to do with the Void. The fact that Adam and I had a fever was strange. Last thing I remember was The Void heating up like crazy. I sat in the chair for hours. It felt like years. 

"Dylan right?" A doctor came up to me. I shot up "Thats me." I said awkwardly. "Come with me." He said as he led me outside a room. The label next to the door said the name 'Adam Elfire'. My heart skipped a beat as I read that. 

"So um Dylan. Mr Elfire has been muttering your name and it's the first time he's said anything in 2 years." He stated. I stared awkwardly at him. I didn't know what to say. "We want you to go in and talk to him. He will be able to hear you and don't worry about him seizing again, we have him stabilised." The doctor said in a rush before running down the hall. I watched him awkwardly before turning towards the door. 

I took a deep breath. I felt warmth flow through my body as my hand arose to be placed on the door handle. I pressed down as slowly as I could. My body grew warmer. So hot to the point of collapsing. The door opened as I gave it a small push. 

There. There he was. The blonde sitting up. Awake. He looked up from his hands , to look at me. My thoughts ran wild. 'Who are you...' I thought with a surprised smile. "Call me A." He said softly. The warmth then settled and before I knew it I ran into his arms. I felt his heart beating for the first time. Tears fell from my eyes.

 "Heya D." He whispered as his arms wrapped around me. "Hi A." I muttered with a soft laugh. I couldn't believe it I was with him , truly with him. I felt him stroke my hair. It felt so strange. I quickly sat up to look at him. His blue eyes were softer with purple stains like bruises under his eyes. his blonde hair was loose and a bit tangled. I cupped his face with my hand and he rested his head. 

I smiled as I watched him pull me in for another hug. As soon as he shoved me off the doctors ran in. They couldn't believe he was awake. They took blood tests and did many scans. But Adam was completely fine. Nothing was wrong. He only had a few stitches and bruises on him which the doctors weren't worried about.

 I had called Amelia and told her about Adams awakening. She hugged him for a really long time and told him about everything he missed. The doctors had to keep him for another week for more scans and tests , just incase something happened.
