Prompt: Taco Tuesday
-
Carlton didn't know why he had done it.
Maybe it was out of boredom. His caseload had slowed and he was left with paperwork for the rest of the day, while O'Hara had taken McNab out for training.
A change of scenery was involved in the decision, so maybe that was the reason for his actions. A brief break from inside. That certainly seemed like a realistic reason.
But it was more likely to be the curiosity. He had never heard of the concept. Was it a common thing? Something he had missed out on? He wasn't sure. Just his luck that the detective in him made him try to understand it. So, instead of making him back away, it drew him to figure it out.
He thought it could have benefits. For one, it would give him time to gloat about his bet with the man without the Chief asking him why he wasn't doing his work. There could always be something else as well.
That was probably why Carlton left the station that day on his lunch break with a man he would usually get fed up with. All because Shawn Spencer had said two words.
"Taco Tuesday."
