Prompt: Don't Let The Bedbugs Bite
-
"Shawn," Gus stated as he looked into his backpack.
"Yes, my head of perfect chocolatey roundness?" Shawn grinned at him. He knew Gus would get angry, so he pretended to know nothing. That was why he often credited himself as a genius.
"What happened to all of my stuff?" Gus asked angrily. "The tent, the food, my sleeping bag?"
"Oh, that?" Shawn painted his face with a mask of innocence. "I don't know."
"Yes, you do!" Gus shoved the bag towards Shawn. When the contents spilled out, he knew it was obvious, so he gave up.
"Okay, so maybe I thought that reading SpongeBob comics would be more fun than setting up a tent!" Shawn exclaimed defensively. "I found them on eBay. Aren't you excited?"
"You're an idiot," Gus said dryly.

Two hours later, Gus had his backpack emptied and laid across the ground against a tree.
Meanwhile, Shawn spread his sleeping bag out. The only reason Gus hadn't taken it was because Shawn threatened to tell Ogletree that he'd stolen Bianca's lunch.
They both laid down, Gus struggling to get comfortable.
"Don't let the bed bugs bite," Shawn said as he closed his eyes. "Oh, wait..."
"Shut up, Shawn."
