Dominic's hands clung to mine, his grip tight and trembling. I held him close, whispering softly, "It will be okay, I promise." But as we stepped out of the room, a torrential thunderstorm greeted us, rain pounding against the windows, and lightning illuminating the darkened sky. Panic gripped me instantly."We can't go out in this storm," I muttered, my voice laced with worry. "Dominic, we have to find somewhere safe to stay."
His trembling intensified, and I could feel his fear radiating through his touch. I couldn't bear the thought of fueling his trauma by forcing him to stay in a room that might trigger his discomfort. We needed a place where he could find solace.
Just as despair started to settle in, an old woman appeared, accompanied by two children. Her eyes held a glimmer of familiarity, as if she had a connection to the palace that ran deeper than her mere presence.
"I've worked in this palace since the very beginning," she spoke with a gentle yet weathered voice. "I've always felt like I could offer some help to the princes when they lived here."
Her words caught my attention, a flicker of hope igniting within me. She mentioned the library, a place the princes had cherished in the past. A room filled with knowledge and comfort. Maybe it could be a haven for Dominic.
"It might not be a typical room, but the future king deserves to feel at ease," she continued, her gaze conveying a profound understanding.
Touched by her words, gratitude welled up within me. "Thank you," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "Please gather all the staff in the throne room immediately, within the hour. Those who refuse to show will be fired. We need to find a way to make this place safe for Dominic."
