A week had passed since I learned about Dominic's engagement, and the sting of betrayal still lingered like a shadow over my heart. To distract myself, I threw myself into my work in foreign affairs, the endless stream of meetings and negotiations providing a welcome respite from my personal turmoil. Prince Alaric of the kingdom Emberlyn.
