I stood before the Queen,my heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Her piercing gaze bore into me as she began to speak, her voice carrying a weight of importance.

"India, I hope you understand the significance of this coronation," the Queen said, her voice resonating with regality. "You are the first in 150 years to be chosen, despite not having royal blood. It is a momentous occasion."

I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of history resting on my shoulders. "Your Majesty, I am deeply honored to be chosen," I replied, my voice tinged with reverence. "I will do my best to uphold the traditions and responsibilities that come with this position."

The Queen nodded in approval, a slight smile gracing her lips. "I trust that your mannerisms are all good to go."

With a wave of her hand, she dismissed me

Eloise, my trusted lady-in-waiting, entered the chambers.

"It's time, India. We need to get you ready for the coronation," Eloise said, her voice warm but tinged with concern.

As Eloise led me away to prepare, my nerves began to surface. After the coronation, I would be moving out of the palace, given my own matters of state to oversee. The Garden, my sanctuary, would no longer be something to look towards, and Eloise's presence in my life was not guaranteed. It felt like I was starting college all over again, navigating an uncertain future.
