A New Face

"Sanemi you will work with Giyuu." the teacher said, "HUH? who the hell...?" Shinazugawa yelled, Tomioka raised his hand slowly and waited for Shinazugawa to notice him, they had been sitting next to each other for so long and Tomioka was not even the slightest bit surprised that Shinazugawa didn't notice him. Tomioka was a quiet student who rarely talked unless called on or talking about work, Shinazugawa noticed him and sneered. "This twerp....Is who you want me to work with?"  He said loudly, Tomioka's ears burned red in embarrassment. "I-I'm not a twerp" Tomioka replied softly hoping Shinazugawa heard him, but he was too quiet.  Shinazugawa didn't feel like arguing so he huffed and sat down in his seat. "So, loser" He turns to Tomioka. Tomioka looked up softly his eyes shining and said, "Hello Sanemi, do you have a basic understanding of the project we are working on?" Shinazugawa shrugged but did talk to Tomioka about the project, it would be due by the end of the week. So Shinazugawa told Tomioka that they'd continue the project at Tomioka's home. As Shinazugawa had so much family he was afraid that Tomioka would be annoyed. Tomioka thanked Shinazugawa for working at the end of the period and then left, Shinazugawa felt weird around Tomioka. Like they had meet before or something, he could only find hazy memories of someone who looked like Tomioka.

A few months later Shinazugawa roamed the halls avoiding teachers and other students, at some point he entered the bathroom to pee. While washing his hands he heard a sniffle, thinking he had heard wrong he stood still to listen properly. His sneakers squeaked as he turned to the sound, the sniffling stopped and Shinazugawa was now standing outside of the stall. While Shinazugawa was an asshole he wasn't that much of an asshole, he reached his hand out and knocked on the stall door. Whoever it was decided to not reply but rather their feet squeaked as it seemed they were sitting on the toilet lid with their feet up. "Hey, are you okay?" Shinazugawa softly asked, the person put their feet down and Shinazugawa could see the black and purple sneakers and knew who exactly was in that stall. "Giyuu?" Shinazugawa said, he heard Tomioka's breath hitch. The raven-haired boy seemed to stand up in the stall and then open the door, which left Shinazugawa staring at him. Tomioka's face stained with tears and a few eggs smashed into his head, the eggshells were clinging on to his hair as well as his hair seemed wet and slicked, the pony tail it was usually in looking matted. "Holy shit, what the fuck happened to you?!" Tomioka didn't respond but instead stared at Shinazugawa, he looked as if he was going to cry again. "Fuck, hey wait here. I'm going to get my friend. Uzui Tengen do you know him?" Shinazugawa stated. Tomioka knew him as someone with three girlfriends but knew he was nice just very loud. Tomioka nodded but wondered why Uzui was being called, Shinazugawa ran out of the bathroom and Tomioka went back into the stall just in case someone else entered the bathroom. Shinazugawa raced down the hall to the cafeteria and grabbed a hold of Uzui's arm and said, "Come on I need your help with something, bring your hair stuff." Uzui was startled but let it happen, slinging his bookbag onto his shoulders and leaving with Shinazugawa. Uzui had an easy time keeping up with Shinazugawa as the fastest in the friend group. When Shinazugawa entered the bathroom, he was confused as to why Shinazugawa had brought him there. Shinazugawa knocked on a stall door and said "Giyuu, come out. I'm back" Uzui was confused but stood there, he was surprised when Tomioka exited the stall covered in eggshells and what looked like water and spit. "Damn what the hell happened to you?" Uzui said, that made Shinazugawa stare at him, then Shinazugawa yelled "Fix it Tengen." Tomioka seemed to flinch, Uzui was used to being barked at by Shinazugawa so he just shrugged and brought Tomioka over to the sink and told him to lean his head over the basin, Tomioka listened to Tengen and leaned over the sink. Shinazugawa and Tengen took time picking all the eggshells out then Uzui pulled out bottles of shampoo and conditioner which he kept in his bag for gym as his hair get super frizzy and weird after gym. He managed to wash Tomioka's hair to where it looked better than before, they were all totally late for class. Shinazugawa didn't seem to mind though. After they were finished Tomioka thanked Tengen and Shinazugawa for helping him. Shinazugawa found himself smiling, but wiped the smile off his face as soon as he noticed feeling embarrassed. "You can leave Uzui thanks for your help" Shinazugawa said, Uzui wanted to tease as Shinazugawa didn't say thank you much but just nodded and left the bathroom. "What happened to you Yuu?" Shinazugawa said cupping Tomioka's face as he would do to his siblings when they'd get hurt. Tomioka didn't answer but looked down at the ground, Shinazugawa was very patient with Tomioka waiting for him to answer. "Was it those fucktards?"Shinazugawa said loudly, Tomioka flinched as Shinazugawa yelled. Tomioka's silence was the answer to the question, "Fuck, I'm going to kill them." Shinazugawa said looking irritated. He turned to Tomioka and said, "What did they do? Tell me Yuu. What did they do to you?" Tomioka's eye started welling up with tears, and he broke down crying. Shinazugawa hated the sight of it, so many time before has he come over to Tomioka's house to comfort him because of bullying or harassment. "Giyuu, it's okay...It's okay..do you want to leave early today..?" Shinazugawa said strutting kind of. Tomioka nodded and clung to Shinazugawa's school shirt which was untucked. "When you're ready we can go to the office and leave early." Shinazugawa said patting the raven-haired boys head which was still abit wet.  He didn't quite mind.
