'"Are we there yet?" I inquire of Bill, having been on the road for some time. Bill glances over and reassures me, "Nearly there. Trust me, the destination will justify the journey." I offer him a reassuring smile as he focuses back on the road, and I turn my gaze to the celestial dance of the stars outside.

Aria, wake up, love," Bill says, shaking me awake. "Did I fall asleep?" I ask, not recalling the moment I drifted off. It must have been the alcohol taking effect. "Yes, you fell asleep while gazing out the window," he replies. "Oh, are we here?" I inquire, noticing the car has come to a stop. Bill laughs and responds, "Yes, we are."

Bill steps out of the car and graciously opens the door for me. As I exit, I realize he has brought me to the beach. The scenery before me is breathtaking, and I am utterly captivated. Noticing my admiration, Bill offers a warm smile, takes my hand gently, and asks, "Do you like it?"

"Like it? I love it!" I exclaim to Bill, who gazes at me with an expression that's unreadable, yet it instills a sense of being cherished. "Let me quickly grab something, and then we can settle down," Bill suggests, heading towards his car's trunk to retrieve blankets and several pillows.'

"You just casually have those in your trunk?" I ask, my eyebrows arched in surprise. Bill chuckles and replies, "No, I usually come here to clear my head when I'm feeling stressed." I make an "oh" sound as I notice the pillow nearly slipping from his hold.'

'"Do you need some help with that?" I ask, chuckling. "Yes, please," Bill responds, his slight pout sending me into another round of laughter. I stride over to collect the pillows, and together we head to a quaint spot by the water. Bill unfurls the blanket while I arrange the pillows.'

We both sit down and simply enjoy the serene breeze and the rhythmic crashing of the waves. "It's truly beautiful here; this is the ideal spot to unwind after all that happened at the party,' I remark, closing my eyes and chuckling."

Bill laughs and says, "Yes, that's why I enjoy being here. There aren't many people, and it's tranquil." I open my eyes to look at Bill. He meets my gaze, and I offer him a smile. In return, he smiles at me and remarks, "You're so beautiful."

I blush and respond, "How many times will you repeat that?" "Until my last breath," he replies, his smile charming. We laugh together, then return our gaze to the ocean, basking in the tranquility it bestows upon us.

"You know, Aria..." Bill begins, as I turn to face him. "I'm really glad you've become comfortable around me; it brings me joy to know you feel you can talk to me." I offer him a smile and respond, "Well, you kind of grew on me, you know?" I add, giving him a playful grin. He chuckles and gently nudges me in response.

Hey, I knew you wanted to talk to me; I could see it in your eyes. However, you were quite silent when we first met. I wanted to ensure your comfort, so I refrained from pushing the conversation and speaking excessively," Bill says, chuckling.

I laughed, and he glanced at me, questioning, "Why were you so silent when we first met? You hardly spoke a word back then." My laughter ceased, and as I gazed out at the ocean, I contemplated whether to reveal the reason behind my past demeanor.

Aria? Did I say something wrong?" Bill inquires, his gaze laden with concern as he looks at me. Meeting his eyes, I see nothing but genuine worry; his innocence is too profound to cause me harm, and I feel it might be safe to confide in him about my past. With a sigh, I respond, "No, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just that..."

I pause to reflect once more. Bill scoots closer and gently takes my hand. "If you're not comfortable sharing, then don't," he suggests, gazing at me with a tender smile. Oh God, why must he be so kind to me?

I smile at him and say, "No, you deserve to know; you've been very patient with me." I clear my throat and look at him. "You must promise not to tell anyone else what I'm about to tell you. I'll tell the boys when I'm ready."

Bill glances at me and gives a swift nod. "You can trust me, I won't say a word," he assures, pivoting to face me fully. My gaze shifts from the ocean back to him.

Okay, it's quite a lot, so please stop me whenever you need," I say, and Bill nods. I continue, "Growing up, I faced numerous trust issues. I was frequently bullied at school, and people often exploited me for their own gain, whether it was for schoolwork or money. I had shut myself off from others because I didn't want to be taken advantage of anymore. Then Caleb entered my life, making me believe he would be different," I pause, tearing up slightly; no one except Rosalie knows the entire story.

Bill notices a tear streaming down my cheek and swiftly dabs it away. "You can stop if you want, love. Just tell me when you're ready," Bill suggests. I nod, inhaling deeply before proceeding. "Caleb manipulated me into believing he was the only one who loved me. Foolishly, I took his words to heart, cutting off contact with my parents and Rose. He subjected me to emotional and, at times, physical abuse. This lasted for around a year and a half until Rose caught sight of me leaving his house with a busted lip." Bill's eyes slightly widen as he gently strokes my hands.

"Upon seeing me, she immediately knew something was wrong and asked what happened. My hesitation was brief, as I could no longer bear living in that manner. After confiding everything to her, she contacted the authorities. He was taken to jail, and since then, I've neither heard from nor seen him. His current status, whether still incarcerated or not, is unknown to me, but he will certainly keep his distance from now on. After that whole situation, it led me to become even more withdrawn. Adopting a colder and more distant demeanor became my mechanism for keeping others at bay. Rosalie remained the sole friend I allowed myself to have."

Gazing at the ocean, I then turn to Bill, smiling as I gently stroke his cheek. He leans into my touch, returning the smile. "Then I met you," I say, my gaze fixed on Bill, my smile unwavering. Bill's smile broadens before he pulls me into an embrace. "I'm so sorry you went through that, love. You didn't deserve it. You're incredibly strong to keep smiling and laughing as if nothing happened," he says. In Bill's arms, I let out a sniffle before responding.

As the saying goes, 'fake it till you make it.' I hug Bill tighter, and he kisses my head. 'I'm so happy you shared this with me. It has allowed me to understand you much better, to see where you're coming from, and to grasp your perspective.' I look at him and smile."

Don't let go yet," I whisper, snuggling deeper into his embrace. Bill smiles and responds, "I wasn't going to."

Me and Bill stayed in that position for a while just looking at the waves, enjoying the moment.
