"Excuse me!?" My sister's voice screamed from on top of the stairs.
I roll my eyes. Here we go.
My mother smiles and places a kiss on my forehead. "My love. What did you do this time?"
"Nothing, Mamma. She's just being dramatic."
As soon as the words leave my mouth Alessia comes waltzing into the living room.
"You!"
I ignore her and her unnecessary words and wrap my hands around my mother. "Get some rest, mamma. I love you. I'll bring you back some bread from the place you like. Hm?"
"Oh, alright dear." I help her stand and one of the maids leads her up the stairs.
"What?" I finally speak, glancing up to where Alessia is standing, glaring at me.
"What the fuck did you do? I'll tell you what." She lifts a hand to hit my head but I grab it before she can do so.
"Don't even think about it."
"I told you to leave my friend alone. I don't want her hurt. Yet you, use your stupid charm and get her to go out with you?"
I almost smile. "Charm?"
"Ugh, you're so annoying. You hurt her, I'll kill you! And I'm not fucking joking. She's the only girl-friend I have here since I moved to your school. Don't take that away from me."
I raise my brows. "Got it. Now get out of my house."
"It's also mom's house. I have the right here too."
"She's being looked after while Fede and I go sort out some business tonight. You're not needed here." I say in a huff, walking past her, in search of my gun.
"I'm staying the night anyway. I get you're protective of Mom. But she's also mine too. So don't forget that. I love her just as much." Alessia says like she's hurt.
I pause in my steps, my face softening slightly.
"Fine. I'm sorry." I apologise, not wanting to be a dick. I care about her as much as I care about Mom. They're both my priority.
"It's okay. I'll see you later."
I give her a nod and make my way to my car where Fede is waiting for me.
"Why the fuck was I the only one there in the morning?" Federico questions, annoyance laced in his voice. "I hate that guy."
Fede rambles on about how he has to sit alone and talk to Mr Allegro.
He's been in the business since my father died. He didn't fully take over as it rightfully belongs to me but he helped until I was old enough to know and train a bit more.
He can be a pain in the ass and I should have got rid of him a while ago but he helped when I had no one else. Now, he's just annoying and holds meetings way too fucking much. And it's never that important. I think he's realising I don't need him to help with my mafia anymore so he's finding some way to remain relevant.
