She sat in silence, all by herself in her room, focusing on the small water with the pigment of paint mixing perfectly on the paper.

With calm music flowing through her headphones, she saw the piece come together, giving her joy of seeing a lifeless paper be born with colours spread on it.

She grinned seeing herself succeed, finishing of her piece, cooling up the room more than it had been before setting her painting at an angle so it would dry up faster,

Her hands fell on her phone, her eyes gazing through the messages she had recieved her eyes landing on one of them.

By chase.

Her heart skipped a beat, the clocks ticking grew louder, her resting mouth turning into a huge grin, all her blood rushing through her cheeks,

She opened the message filled with aderiline,

Chasereal
Do you have rivers new number? :)

The ticking sound of the clock grew colder, her grin was once again replaced with a faint smile, she let out a small laugh,

“how could i have been this foolish?”

Sxnolives
No, i can arrange it :)

She sighed she was about to click onto her bestfriend’s profile to ask for the his new number, when she saw the notification peek at the top of her phone

Chase real
No nvm. I asked Emmy. Ty tho.

She felt the guilt of not having the number, she thought of different possibilities, if she had the number and would have lit up a conversation again.

She remembered the memories of what her and chase made together. People believe they were platonic soulmates, as if meant to be bestfriends,

But Olivia did think otherwise, he was always distinct she had to keep up with the efforts, but she also knew that, that's just how chase has always been.

It's one part of his twisted personality.

She let out a tired sigh being followed by a forced smile, as soon as she placed her phone back on the table, the metal softly hitting the wood, the phone let out a ear raping ring,

She jumped backwards, her hands placed on her chest her breathing being irregular,

“JESUS” she yelled out, slowly peeking at the phone screen reading out the number,

“unknown?”

She picked up her phone her fingers lingering over the accept button, and at last she placed the phone at her ears,

“who’s this?”

Joe.

“joe...no no–”

JOE MAMMA!

She Saw it coming, and finally recognised the voice on the other end,

“river. Really?”

Sorry. Sorry. I wanted to take advantage of my new number.

you could've called me 5 miniuts earlier?”

Now what's this new drama about?

“nothing.”

Nothing? Oh I know you since we were 4, can i guess? I like guessing games

no need river”

It's...chase! He must have asked you for my new number and you didn't have it, you think if you did you would have sparked a conversation.
