"Honestly, I don't know why I bother! People just don't understand the true art of music!" Jaskier sighs dramatically, earning a giggle from me. He plops down near the fire after a few drinks in the tavern. I hand him a bowl of broth and he digs in.

"When will Geralt be back?" He asks worried. "I'm not sure Jas. He told me this one would take a while." I explain. "How do you deal with his brooding? I mean you try and talk to him and all you get is a grunt in return!" He exclaims. "Geralt may be broody but under all that he's a very sweet man. Don't tell him I told you though." I chuckle.

Then in storms a large white haired figure, covered in blood. "Geralt!" I grin and bounce over to him. He ignores me and heads straight to our room. I frown at his rudeness and stare at the now closed door.

"How rude! That's no way to treat your wife! I'll go deal with him, Y/n, don't you worry!" Jaskier exclaims angry. I place a hand on his chest and stop him. "I'll talk to him. He probably just had a hard time." I smile softly. I kiss Jaskier on the cheek and head into my room.

As I enter I see Geralt sat hunched over on the end of our bed. "Love?" I whisper. He remains silent and his golden eyes are glazed over. I crouch in front of him and take his hands in mine. His hands are shaking and his bottom lip trembles.

"Wanna talk about it?" I ask softly. He just continues to stare at the floor causing me to sigh. I get up and head to the bathroom, grabbing a bucket of water and a rag. I head back into the room and set the bucket on the floor. I dip the rag in it and squeeze the extra water from it.

I sit next to Geralt and wipe his face. "Was it a tough one?" I whisper. He nods slowly. I finish cleaning him up and help him out of his armour. Leaving him in just his black shirt I help him into bed.

"You've always got me. Remember that." I remind him. "I know." He mumbles. "Let me tell Jaskier we're going to bed." I smiles and kiss his head. He nods and I get up and head to the living room.

"Jaskier, Geralt and I are going to bed. I'd advise you do too because you've had a long day." I smile. "What about his rudeness earlier? I need to give him a peace of my mind!" He grumbles. "Leave him alone Jaskier. He's had a rough day. He didn't mean to be rude." I tell him. I kiss his forehead, wishing him goodnight, and head to my room.

I open the door quietly and sneak in. I turn around and see Geralt curled in a ball under the covers. I chuckle quietly and climb into bed with him. I kiss his head as I wrap my arms under his arms. He wiggles back into me and I kiss his neck.

"I love you." I whisper, receiving a hum in return.
