Prologue;
"Natalie, I need to tell you something..." He said softly, she gave him a questioning look, but eventually nodded. They walked side by side, close, but not holding hands, down the path leading to the river. The boy looked straight ahead, to tense for words, he has been holding the truth, because he knows it'll break her heart. But now, he has to tell her. The girl gives him a worried glance, but he doesn't return it, he just keeps walking.
Finally, he stops. "Natalie, I auditioned for the X-Factor a couple weeks ago." He announced, not making contact. She looked up at him, confused.
"Oh." She was confused, why didn't he tell her? "Did- did you get in?" She asked, her voice hoarse.
"Yeah, and I'm leaving. Today. Natalie, it's over." He muttered the last words quickly, and walked away, leaving the love of his life behind. She stood there, taking it all in, a single tear rolled down her cheek, and her knees gave out, as she stumbled down to the damp ground.
