SECRETS: PART II - A CALEB MCLAUGHLIN AU STORY

I'm a gay dude that's into Caleb McLaughlin.

I've had certain feelings towards certain males before, some celebs, some I knew in real life, but Caleb is the first time I REALLY had a crush on someone.

I myself had to learn to accept the reality of the situation.

In some ways, I still am.

I don't think, unless Caleb did something crazy which I know he won't... I'll never NOT want Caleb. Even if I do find a real boyfriend that makes me as happy as Caleb currently does, I know I'll never not want Caleb...

If I ever do get a real boyfriend I'm rushing back to this and taking that last sentence out xD

But I have learned to accept that I'll never be with Caleb the way I wish I could be, and in many ways, the first 'Secrets', the character Jacob Stevenson, his crush on Caleb, and how the story ended, was meant to be a reflection of my own, we'll call it 'story arc' with Caleb.

I'd be lying if I said I still didn't feel iffy on making a 'Secrets 2', and then eventually a third one, as well as a sort of 'spinoff' story that will focus primarily on Caleb, due to how what is now 'Secrets 1' ended with Jacob having to accept he'll never be with Caleb the way he wants to be.

The reason I AM doing more is for a few reasons.

Look at my last fanfic on this account. I think after how that ended I needed to do something peaceful.

I had a LOT of fun writing the first 'Secrets', so it'll be fun to write more.

If I have ideas for more stories within this storyline, why not make more?

I also wanna clarify that Caleb won't be in every chapter of this story. I really want to spend 'Secrets: Part II' on JACOB, who he is as a character as he learns to try to live his life and navigate being a young gay man who is in love with another man that now has a wife and child.

Like I said, the plan is, 'Secrets: Part II', then after that, a story called 'Secrets: Soul Travel'', which will NOT have Jacob, will be entirely Caleb, and then the story will come to a close in 'Secrets: Part III'. The release schedule will be, since I have a LOT of Wattpad story ideas, two stories in between. So:

 PREVIOUSLY ON SECRETS

Jacob Stevenson is a 22 year old male living in a small, coastal town in a dingy apartment. For Jacob's entire life, he had zero friends. The other person he cared about, and felt cared about him, was his mother. He mostly didn't get along with his father and DEFINITELY not his brother Cameron, who is a psychotic narcissist.

On July 4, 2023, he went to the nearby beach which ends with a massive cliff. Jacob was planning on jumping off to his death. He had earbuds in as he was walking.

Then, he tripped on a rock, slamming one of the earbuds into the inner skin of one of his ears, and a person ran up to help him.

That person was Caleb McLaughlin.

At the time of July 2023 in the 'Secrets' universe, Stranger Things does not exist. Instead, Caleb is primarily a model, but did get acting gigs on Concrete Cowboy and Shooting Stars.

Caleb takes Jacob to his home on the beach, helps him clean out his ear, but then notices the clear self-done cuts on Jacob's arm.

Jacob reveals to Caleb that he's never had a friend in his life, to which Caleb instantly decides to take Jacob for a night out at a boardwalk to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Jacob has the time of his life with Caleb, and at night time, when the fireworks go off, Jacob looks at Caleb...

And realizes he's in love with him.

But he realizes just as quickly that he can't be with Caleb in that way.

As time goes on, Caleb and Jacob's relationship grows, and Caleb even helps Jacob deal with his psychopathic brother and his rough relationship with his homophobic father. But as Jacob's friendship with Caleb grows, so does the pain of his secret love for him.

Jacob even tells his mother he's in love with Caleb but knows he can't be with him, and sobs onto her shoulder, crying out,

"I want him more than anything!"

And later that night, Caleb reveals to Jacob a certain someone... Sarah. His girlfriend.

Reality starts spinning for Jacob, everything goes black... Then, all of a sudden, it's two months later, and Jacob finds out he was in a catatonic state.

'Secrets: Part I' ends with a jump to July 4, 2024, the one year date of when Caleb and Jacob met. During that time, Stranger Things finally happens, Caleb just wrapped filming Season 1, Jacob wrote a novel which ended up being a worldwide bestseller, and it's in talks to turn into a movie with Caleb set to star. Jacob has become friends with Gaten Matarazzo. Jacob ended up telling Gaten how he felt about Caleb. Gaten 'insists' that Jacob should tell Caleb, but Jacob refuses.

And now, Caleb and Sarah got married and are expecting a child.

When Jacob realizes this, he realizes that any possible chance of actually winding up with Caleb the way he wants, is over.

Jacob attends Caleb's wedding in the final scene of 'Secrets: Part I', but leaves early. Gaten turns to Caleb and asks, "Are you ever gonna tell him?"

And Caleb replies, "Nah. It'll be our secret."

What does that mean?

What will happen with Jacob now?

It's time for a new 'Secrets' story to begin...
