-Chapter Two-

:Kaylen's POV:

I hopped on Lucifer's back he chuckled and held me tight this reminded me when we were hiking after the gas station had exploded. We were at the lake that was near our cottage. It was a nice clean area we would come here every weekend when I didn't have work or when Lucifer didn't and we would just chill. He ran over to the lake and put me down my feet touched the cool warming water of the lake. It was relaxing just sitting near the water. Lucifer took the spot that was next to me he laid down his hands folded behind his head I leaned down and kissed his nose he opened his eyes his red eyes they were glowing. He opened his arms up I laid on his chest his arms wrapped around me almost protecting me. This got me worried.

" Lucifer?" I muttered looking up at his face he opened his eyes again and looked down at me

" yea?" he mumbled

" something's wrong" I said I didn't even state it as a question I knew there was something wrong

" nothing's wrong" he said clearly lying Lucifer was great at everything but lying you would expect a demon to be great at lying but he wasn't.

I stayed silent giving him the look I leaned up on my arm and peered down on him he was going to crack sooner or later until we saw someone we thought we would never see again.

" look at the love birds" we heard I jumped slightly coming out of the woods was Asmadous the sin of lust.

Lucifer jumped from the ground and stood in front of me protectively I stood behind him.

" what do you want?" Lucifer asked his voice was hard and dangerous. Asmadous was the one who told Hades where our hiding spot was.

" I come in peace, we need you Lucifer" he said he held his hands up in the air a sigh that he didn't mean any but Lucifer wasn't buying it.

" what's the problem?" he asked his voice was still hard

" its all going to hell" he said I didn't know what he meant by that.

" there's a war going on the gods are coming for Hades Cronies wants his son" he explained Lucifer didn't say a word Cronies is the father of time and the father of all the gods Hades was a god?

" to bad my fathers dead" Lucifer said his voice was cold and hard.

Lucifer sat on the ground in the backyard his legs crossed I didn't bother wondering what else was going on. Ever since he became the ruler of the underworld he's been stressed he barely has time anymore. He's taken on a lot of responsibility and I could tell he wasn't ready for that. I stepped back into the house to get dinner ready I was having roasted chicken while I made Lucifer a small pasta salad since that's the only thing he eats.

Dinner was done three hours ago but Lucifer never back inside. I went outside and saw he was still on the ground.

" Lucifer?" I questioned he didn't move instead I walked over to him and sat on the ground in front of him.

" I'm sorry" he whispered my eyes widen was he talking to me?

" what for?" I asked

" I know I've been sort of ignoring you" he said his eyes were turning a bright red he was emotional.

" it's not your fault" I responded

" I'm gonna change" he said standing from the ground. I looked up at the hand he had lowered towards me

I grabbed his hand he lifted me up I wrapped my legs around his torso and wrapped my arms around his neck. His hands held the bottom of my ass to keep me there. I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his he responded in no time he walked us back to the house closing the door behind us. I pulled away needing to breath

" I love you" he whispered

" I love you to" I said giving him another kiss. Then the look in his eyes hardened he took a deep breath.

He leaned me up against the hallway wall him in between my legs.

" I have to leave for awhile" he announced

" leave and go where?" I asked

" I have to prepare for the war" he explained I frowned

" I wanna go with you" I said Lucifer laughed softly and placed me on the ground.

" why are you laughing?" I asked

" are you insane I don't want you anywhere near thee underworld" he exclaimed walking into our bedroom.

" yes I'm insane and I want to help I've cause all this I killed your father causing the war I should at least help" I said watching as he removed his clothes fully nude I tried hard not to stare since I'm mad.

" no Kaylen and that's it" he said sternly I sighed softly and watched as he entered the bathroom later on hearing the shower go.

I'm insane I know I just offered to go to the underworld and I'm going no matter what Lucifer says.
