A/N: IM GROWING INSANE OVER THIS RAREPAIR.

~

" You were the singular book from 8 billion others, yet your story remained forever in my heart and mind. "

~

Kokomi would sigh and pull the covers that wrapped around the thick pages up to her eyes to inspect the words with more ease, a sigh escaping her lips showing that this book had obviously bored her. She'd be reading a the same exact book for practically the 23rd time, sitting in the midst of the quiet, silent, and pleasant library. So many wonders filled the aisles and shelves, waiting to be opened and read rather than that book she read profusely.

She'd read the final words, deciding to stand up and amble through the great halls of the library. It was quite a large library, one could even get lost and entangled with each story.

That was what the other was doing inside of the library. Alhaitham seemed to be in the library as well, his fingers gently brushing against the book covers as he walked along the shelves. His eyes, turquoise color dominating the diamond crimson pupils, would glance around to find the book he was looking for.

Kokomi would slide the book she read back into its place, stretching her height high just enough to be able to push it back. She'd finally place her heels back on the floor, turning on her heel and wandering amongst the shelves of books.

It was almost a dream, everywhere Alhaitham turned there were just books and no people around. He'd shift his body and reached for a book, opening it and skimming through the contents. Uninterested, he thought while pushing it back into the shelf.

Kokomi would be on the other side of the shelf, pulling out a book and lowering his gaze to inspect the cover. Alhaitham would notice the girl from the small gap in the shelf and grab a book, lowering his gaze at the book as well. Kokomi would place the book back on the shelf and look at Alhaitham, making a small noise of surprise that caught his attention and caused him to look up from the book.

Kokomi would quickly, with a shuffle of her feet, stumble away to another section in the library.

The actions caught Alhaitham's attention away as he watched Kokomi scurry away, his head giving a slight tilt. Even so, he was here to read books, not make friends. He would let a sigh escape his lips as he wandered along the shelves again, his hands tracing the books.

It wasn't soon before the two met again, for it was only them two in the library full of books.

Alhaitham would finally see the book that he'd been looking for, his hand raised to grab it, holding the book until he felt something warm under his own hand. Kokomi's hand was on the book, and Alhaitham's hand was on hers.

A brilliant scarlet would flush Kokomi's pale cheeks and she'd retract her hand from under Alhaitham's, mumbling apologies.

"My apologies— I didn't see you there." She spoke, the voice soft and gentle, tender and kind, sweet and serene. Kokomi was extending her short height to reach the book, but now she returned back to her heels and held her hand in her other hand.

"It's alright." Alhaitham spoke, his hands returning down with the book inside of them. He'd look at the book for a few moments, until extending his hand out again with the book. "Would you like it?"

If it was possible, Kokomi flustered even more, "Ah, I'm fine—"

Alhaitham would speak once more, "But you had your hand on the book first, correct? And you also had your eyes on it as well." He said, persuading her.

Kokomi spoke nothing, although lended a hand out to hold the book. The two held hands for the second time, but it was only a brief moment until their hands separated, leaving Kokomi's hands holding the book.

"Thank you— Uhm, what's your name?" Kokomi spoke, titling her head as her cheeks returned back to their pale color.

"I'm Alhaitham, the Akademiya's scribe. Although, I am the temporary 'Acting Grand Sage'." He spoke with such formality that it surprised Kokomi. "And you?"

She cleared her throat and said, "I am Sangonomiya Kokomi, the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island."

"Alright...so Sangonomiya,"

"Kokomi."

"Alright, so Kokomi," Alhaitham corrected himself, an amused, slight smile on his face, "You have quite a taste in books."

"Really? What about you? Have you read anything from the Yae Publishing house?" Kokomi inquired, holding the book close to her chest.

"Only a few, and how about you?" Alhaitham spoke, finding it comfortable to talk to Kokomi and make conversation, something he'd usually not do. He felt..comfortable around her.

"I read all of them! Did you hear that Yae Miko is writing another? I can't wait to read it," Kokomi spoke, "Oh! And come look!" Kokomi took Alhaitham's hand, which took him by surprise but he didn't refuse, and quickly walked to the section where a few books were.

"This is where all the Yae Publishing house's books are. Would you like to read some with me?" Kokomi spoke, showing how much she dearly loved the books of Yae Miko.

"Of course." Alhaitham spoke, taking one off the shelf and inspecting it, placing it back on the shelf when Kokomi spoke.

"I recommend this one, I think you'd like it."

And he liked it.

He liked it and he liked her.
