Heyyy, here is my contribution to the #surreracountdown, only 17 days until our favourite couple is back (or at least their characters). But I NEED them to be endgame before this stupid little wee woo show ends, lol.
...Have you ever been in a near death scenario, not knowing if you will survive to see another day?
She knew the building was going to come down any minute and she knew she wasn't going to make it down in time. Running down the stairs as fast as she could. Four floors left. She could make it, she thought. She had to. She had an amazing husband and a sweet little baby girl waiting for her at home, probably watching the scene unfold right before their eyes through the television screen.
Her and Robert had made the executive decision when little Ellie was born, that they would switch shifts so that Ellie always had one parent with her. The plan being they would switch back once she was in school. And although they both felt safer with one of them at home, the news station was almost always on. Both Andy and Robert needing to at least know what the other one was up to.
Three floors left Andy thought to herself as she kept running trying to make her way down the stairs.
The events of this fire had taken over so quickly, one moment Hughes and herself were making their way up the stairs and now she was trying to make her way out before the building collapsed. Her entire team just outside the building waiting, her husband and daughter at home expecting her home in a couple hours.
"Herrera what's your status?" Chief Ross asked.
"Two floors left." Andy quickly replied short of breath, still running as fast as possible.
Hearing the floor beneath her crack as she continued trying to make her way down, she knew she had limited time before the building would collapse. Still running her mind flashed back to early that morning.
Groaning as she checked her phone and realized it was only 4am, she set her phone back down about to get up before Robert interrupted her.
"I got Ellie, you get some more sleep." Robert said, kissing Andy's forehead before making his way to the screaming baby.
"Hey El, shhh, what's wrong? Huh, mommy needs sleep, shhh." Robert said, attempting to soothe Ellie.
Knowing Ellie was in good hands Andy easily fell back to sleep, her alarm ready to wake her in an hour.
Startled awake by her alarm a short hour later, Andy got ready for work gathering everything she typically takes with her. Heading downstairs she heard the TV on in the living room, where she saw her daughter cuddled into her husbands chest, both peacefully asleep.
Not wanting to disturb their sleep Andy took a quick picture before making her way out to the kitchen.
As she waited for the coffee machine, she grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, writing out a note to Robert, something that had become normal for the Sullivan house. Wanting to make sure they said I love you to one another, while also not disturbing the others sleep.
Without waking either of them Andy slipped out of the house and off to work, already counting down the minutes until she would be cuddling with Ellie and watching a movie.
Hearing a large crack Andy had no time to prepare herself as the building collapsed all around her. Falling while hearing large cracks, before everything went dark.
"Herrera do you copy?" Beckett asked, as everyone watched in horror as the building collapsed with their friend still inside.
"Herrera, I repeat do you copy?" Beckett asked after a couple moments of silence.
