AISLIN'S POV:

I sat on the edge of Tavin's bed with my hands folded in my lap, awkwardly looking around and fidgeting avoiding eye contact with him, it seemed like there was a permanent awkward silence and I'm sure Tavin felt just as awkward as i did. I stared at the green day, mumford and sons, and Hedley  posters covering his walls trying to process what had just happened.

"I should go." I blurted out, with mixed emotions in my cautious voice. Standing I quickly grab my bag and practically bolt for the door before i change my mind, without even hearing Tavin's reaction.

"Ash- Ash C'mon wait!" Tavin followed me out of his room and stood in the front hallway with a pleading look in his eyes.

"Sorry my mom's expecting me we're having people over for dinner and I cant be late." It wasn't all a lie, my family really was having guests over for dinner, my mom wouldnt tell me who though, but i really didnt care if I was late or not.

Tavin gave up pleading with me and dropped his hands to his sides and stuffing them in his pockets, his face becoming expressionless. "Okay, I'll see you tommorow?" He called hopefully after me as I speed walked down his sidewalk.

"Er... yeah" I half called half mumbled not really caring if he heard me or not. I just had to get out of there before i made myself look like more of an idiot  than I already have.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I started to calm down after walking about two blocks, the frigid November air biting at my skin and I reminded myself to wear a thicker coat next time I go outside. I tried not to think of anything and just enjoy sight of the fresh powdery light snow that had started falling while i was walking.
Giggling i twirl around watching the delicate snowflakes swirl down around me, and forget about all my problems for the time being. Why couldn't I be this carefree all the time?
I turned the corner onto my street, many of my neighbors already had Christmas decorations up and i loved looking at them at night. All the bright warm colors and twinkling reindeer always put me in a cheery mood, but unfortunately they weren't on right now because it was still daylight.
I was abrubtly pulled out of my thoughts about christmas when i heard a car pull up next to where i was walking , turning my head i realized it was a police car.
I stopped walking and turned, carefully walking over to the car to politely talk to whoever was inside. The mechanical window rolled down and I grinned at Officer Kane who was sitting behind the wheel with a slight smile on his face . Our families had kept in touch over the years and even though officer Kane was pushing 30 it looked like he hadn't aged a bit.
"Hey officer Kane!" I shoot him a genuine smile
"Hey Ash." He said using her nickname with his calm cool almost emotionless voice. She wasn't suprised, Officer Kane was always like that, but she saw a hint of warmth in his eyes that had been there since they had first met. I knew that underneath his cool hard exterior he was a very compassionate and caring guy.
"Been in any trouble lately?" He joked grinning at her and letting his true personality show through
"Yeah, tons. In fact I'm just getting back from my dealers house right now!"
He looked at me for a few seconds, concern written all over his face.
"Im kidding!" I exclaim doubling over in a fit of laughter at the look on his face.
"You scared me for a second, Ash" He exclaimed trying to look serious but failing miserably.
"Why dont you come over for dinner at my house? We're having a dinner party tonight and my mom is dying to see you again, It's been forever." I suggest while absent mindedly knocking the snow off my boots.
