the only reason vox found himself spending the first week of his holiday break working part-time in the notoriously decrepit cinemart in downtown new york was because he needed to pay for shu's half of the rent.
by the time the christmas season would end, he was sure that he would have the money he needed and get to leave the horrid haven of crying teenagers and half-eaten hotdogs behind him for good, and then just treat it as the fleeting holiday nightmare it was.
vox had everything planned down to the second. unfortunately, taking interest in the snarky cinema goer he met in the darkness of the movie theater didn't have an emergency back-up plan.
