September 1st 1995-
"Come on Aurora!! We're going to be late if you don't get a move on" screamed Evangeline from the bottom of the stairs. With a heavy suitcase in one hand and a small black bag in the other, Aurora came speeding out of her room and down the stairs. Her mother and father - Evangeline and Oliver - and her older sister - Isabella - were waiting by the front door, getting more impatient by the second.
"Why can't you be more prepared like Isabella, we've been waiting for god knows how long, it's ridiculous Aurora! Ridiculous." groaned Oliver with a disgusted look on his face.
Aurora's hurt eyes panned from her father to the floor when he finished speaking. The silence in the hallway was deafening.
"Let's leave then. We don't want to miss the train." Isabella spoke breaking the silence before her parents made another remark at Aurora.
Isabella obviously loved the attention, she was treated like royalty, everything she wished for was handed to her, she could do what she pleased , when she pleased. But this didn't stop her from feeling pity for her younger sister.. Aurora constantly being compared to her, blamed for every little thing that went wrong in their household, she enjoyed the free reign but she knew it wasn't fair, she didn't like watching her sister get the backlash of everything, which is why she kept her close at school.
They walked over to their black Bentley Turbo R, placing all their luggage into the boot, before setting off to King's Cross Station.

Aurora's POV:
Our stuff has been taken care of, now Isabella and I are trying to find a place to sit. We're walking through the carriages till we come along Draco, Blaise, Theodore and Pansy. These are Isabella's friends - I would say they're mine too since I spend every day of Hogwarts with them but I don't really speak to them much. After what goes on at home, Isabella won't let me out of her sight, she likes me to be at arms reach constantly, so after getting placed into Slytherin just like the others, i've spent all my time with her and her friends. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy their company but Isabella's the only one who really makes an effort to converse with me, but it usually gets shut down quickly by Draco interrupting us to talk to Isabella.
For as long as I can remember, Isabella and Draco have been the best of friends, we visit the Malfoy Manor a lot and in return they come round to the Cross House. They spend every minute with eachother, talking, laughing, flirting.
Nothings ever actually happened with them but we all know it will eventually. It's bound to happen after how much our family's have pushed them together.Sitting down at the booth, everyone is talking about their summer holidays but me, I stay quiet fiddling with the singular silver ring on my finger. Out of nowhere, I feel eyes watching me.. I try to ignore the feeling of being stared at but curiosity got the better of me. I look up and Theodore is glaring at me. I give him a puzzled look in return, hoping he'll give me an answer as to why he was staring.
"You've grown up quite a bit haven't you Aurora." Theodore says as he half smiles at me, still staring me down, refusing to break eye contact. I give him an awkward laugh in return, unsure of how to reply to that.
I knew I had changed a bit, I mean I grew my hair out and learnt how to properly do my makeup, but I didn't think anyone would notice, no one ever does.
"Is this Theodore making his moves on the sweet, innocent Aurora Cross?" Blaise teases whilst he elbows Theodore in the side.
"Oh shut it Blaise, I was just saying she's grown up. I mean i'm not wrong am I?" Theodore replies.
A quiet voice appears in the corner of the booth, "No you're not wrong" mutters Draco.
My gaze averts to Draco but he kept his head down."Right boys let's leave Aurora alone." Isabella sterns.
"Fine." Theodore says as he slyly winks at me.
My heart begins to speed up, but I quickly calm myself down as I realise they're all probably just messing around. Isabella's the one they look at, Isabella's the one they want. I mean who wouldn't want her... she is beautiful after all.
Nothing else was said about me for the rest of the journey towards Hogwarts. I didn't mind it though, that was more acknowledgment in one train journey then i've got my past four years here.
After arriving at Hogwarts, we settle down in our rooms. After much convincing by Isabella and our well respected parents, we manage to get me placed in a room with Isabella, Pansy and Daphne Greengrass. Daphne sort of keeps to herself as well, exchanging a word every now and then, I like Daphne a lot.. she's peaceful to be around.
I use a spell I learnt from Pansy to empty my suitcase and place everything neatly in my drawers. I take a book out from the table beside my bed and head down to the slytherin common room. Theodore, Draco and Blaise are already down there. I go sit down on the sofa opposite them expecting their conversation to continue, but they all pause, looking up at me.
"Any good Aurora?" Theodore questions.
Taken aback I mutter "What?" with a perplexed look.
"The book dear" Theodore replies.
Dear? He calls Isabella dear all the time, but never me.
"Oh.. i'm not too sure I haven't started it yet"
Theodore sighs. "Well what's it called then?"
Before I get a chance to answer, Draco claims "Jane Eyre" he was right.I nod my head as the two other boys give him a strange look, confused on how he knew without even seeing the book properly.
"What? I read sometimes" he mutters before glancing over to me and we lock eyes.
"You never striked me as a boy to read Malfoy" Blaise exclaims, taken aback by Dracos hidden interest in reading.
Draco shrugs as his gaze averts from me to Blaise then down to the floor.
Draco Malfoy, a reader. Something I never expected. He talks so highly of quidditch I didn't think he'd have enough time to even look at a book let alone read one.
Their previous conversation quickly sparks up again, so I begin to read, occasionally catching Draco glance over. He's probably just trying to see if i'm actually reading or listening to their conversation. I hope he knows I have no interest in what those three boys talk about. It's always either sex or going out, and I experience neither.
