My coffee cup is still on the side when I wake up with my book still open on my bed. I must have fell asleep while reading.. I didn't even hear anyone come in last night.
I look at the time and it's 5a.m... why the fuck am I awake this early I thought. Making the decision to take advantage of the peace and quiet, I get in the shower, change into my black joggers and a black vest ( my go-to outfit for when i just want to relax ). I brush my teeth then try to make the best out of the wet mess by combing my hair and plaiting it.
It's been a long time since I've written a short story, so I decide to catch up with my writing.
I take some parchment paper, my quill, and some ink downstairs with me. I then settle down at a desk and start writing.
I decide to write a romance story about two people who were once just friends but are now falling in love day by day.
I'm not sure why, but it felt right to write about this.I'm about two pages in when I hear a boy coughing. I hurriedly turn around, and to my surprise , Draco is coming down the stairs in just his pyjama bottoms—no top—and his sopping wet hair.
I had no idea he was that chiselled.
He glances over at me then at the paper on my desk, continuing to apologise for interrupting, saying "I didn't expect you to be here, nobody is ever usually awake this early."
"Yeah, I didn't expect this either." I half-laugh. "Slept way too early" I confess.
"Surprised the coffee didn't keep you up," says Draco, raising his eyebrows at me.
"I drink so much of it that it no longer affects me. In fact.." I chuckle, "I can't sleep without a cup of it."
He returns a smile and goes about his daily business in the common room area.
I can't help but look at his body and those incredibly sculpted abs. I've seen him at our pool countless times, but today it's different.
Everything about Draco is different.
...
It was already 8am and I could hear people waking up. I had gotten so lost in my work I didn't realise Draco was no longer in the room...when did he leave?, I wonder.
I start to gather my belongings since once everyone is here, I won't be able to focus, so I might as well finish. Anyways, my right hand has all cramped up.
When I enter my room, I find Draco and Isabella seated on the bed, laughing and talking to one other.
Placing my things down on the table next to my bed, Isabella asks me, "When did you have time to do all that?"
I reply, "I've been awake since 5 Bella, early bird catches the worm as mother and father like to say," and we both chuckle.
I try not to listen while Isabella and Draco talk more, but for some reason I can't help it.
"Who are you trying to impress today, Isabella? Your hair feels softer than usual" says Draco.
"Don't worry" Isabella responds, appearing startled.
"You don't need softer hair to hook me; I'm already interested."Draco smirks.
Isabella responds, "Oh stop it, Draco," whilst lightly punching his arm. Together, they begin to laugh. Even though I do think they look cute together, I can't help but feel an empty pit in my stomach.
