When it gets dark, I decide to sit on the terrace. The sky over New York welcomes the stars and the moon also shines brightly.
I snuggle into the blanket Tony left with me after he helped me out of here.
"It's nice, isn't it," Thor suddenly says, coming up behind me.
I flinch and then look deep into his eyes. He's wearing loose clothes by now, and his hands are in the pockets of his cardigan.
"Yes," I then say softly and look up at the sky again.
"I owe you this, I think," Thor then says suddenly, opening my hand that I had used to pull the blanket to my chin.
Carefully and gently he puts something cold in it. I look at Thor for a while. He just nods. When I open my hand, there is a golden chain in it. The moon gives enough light that I can see that there is a golden plate on it, which has a rose engraved on it.
"But... why," I begin to build up my sentence, but Thor interjects.
"Because of your mobile device," he explains naturally, looking at me demandingly.
I have to laugh.
"Thanks Thor," I say and tie it around me.
"I'll go to my room then," Thor clarifies and opens the door to the balcony.
"Good night, Christine."
I just keep looking down at New York, though. If I were to look at him now, I can't assure you that he would be okay with it.
"Good night," so I just whisper after the door slams shut.
The sky suddenly brightens in one spot. I draw my eyebrows together and lean forward. Is there a thunderstorm coming?
A large blue beam of light falls on New York. A little later, a smaller one twitches on the ground. And behind me there is a crash. I literally jump up and my ankle twists slightly and I can already feel how it dances out of line, but then I turn my foot properly again at the right moment.
In front of me now stands a man with black hair. He wears a suit in green and black and a helmet, with two backward bent horns on it in gold.
"What are you staring at, fair maiden?"
"I um," but I can't stammer out more than unnecessary words.
"Where's Thor?" the man asks, scowling.
If I had to guess, I would say that his aura is deep black.
For this reason, I will not answer his question. Thor is strong, but this guy also looks strong and bloodthirsty. I don't want to know what he would do with Thor.
"Answer my question," he demands in a deep and rough voice.
He takes a few steps toward me.
"Kneel down," he then commands, when barely five centimeters separate us.
I stare at him uncertainly.
"I said kneel down!"
My chest rises and falls much too quickly.
"So you don't take orders? Don't let yourself be dominated," he states, tilting his head.
"Who are you," I then only ask in an equally somber voice.
"Who am I you ask," he says softly and then takes a step back.
"I am Loki," he calls out, spreading his arms.
"The rightful king of Asgard," he says in a slightly lowered voice.
"Asgard? I've heard of that before."
