The takeover of Obscura

Chapter three

Rune sits down next to Luna and eats some pancakes with her on the kitchen counter, "they're delicious" he thought.

He expected to get her off guard in conversation and teach her how to summon the dark creature since he knows this kid is smart enough to not be fooled as easily as Juno, but Luna beat him to the punch and blurted out loud the exciting news.

" Hey Rune guess what?! I finished my spaceship!"

"What?" Rune asked since he had no idea what she was talking about.

"Yeah the spaceship that my mom and dad used, I didn't have any blueprints since the project shut down but they logged the construction of the ship in a video so I used the volume of the room to make the measurements of the spaceship parts and I took the liberty of designing my own custom cockpit, haha pit, and then I-"

Luna kept going on and on about the design of the ship and didn't stop until she had to breathe and kept going again. Needless to say, Rune couldn't get a word in besides "uh huh" and "yeah".

Atlas never brought up his parents to anyone and since everyone knew what happened to them no one said anything about it . But Luna was the opposite, she could talk about her parents to anyone and about all her memories and accomplishments that they shared, she wants to go to space and find them so she can bring them home, she believes that they are still alive somewhere and she talks about them as if they're simply lost and wandering in space.

Rune thinks about using her hope against her.

"I must say, that is very impressive" Rune says when he finally gets the chance to speak.

"It sure is!" Luna responds, "and I know that my mom and dad are going to be so proud of me when they see me flying it all by myself."

"But you don't know that for sure do you?" Rune said.

"What do you mean, I know because they're still out there." Luna had a confident but somewhat irritated look on her face and looked around the room a bit and couldn't see Juno at all.

"But you don't know that for sure though" Rune kept pestering her on and the worst part was that she couldn't tell if he was serious or just crudely mocking and that made her even more upset.

She stood up in her chair and slammed her small hands down on the table " Not you too!" "Just stop will you?!" " You sound just like my brother when he sees me working on-" she stopped speaking as her face changed to that of a scowl.
"Don't tell me, don't tell me that he told you to try to change my mind because we already had this fight-"

Luna tears up and sobs wiping away the tears with her hand balled up into a fist, as Rune's looks un phased, his mask giving him a very good poker face.

"My brother is so cold and stoic about everything, it's like he dead sometimes. It's how he copes with things and he's trying to find a way to bring our parents back but it's tearing us apart. He should be here at home with me instead of you or Drek'ar babysitting me."

"I need him to know that mom and dad are still alive, I know they are, I know they are."

Rune put on a wry smile, the child's hope and the drive to her goal reminded him of himself, too much so. "I know how you can find your parents" he says, he could feel the deja vu of a smart, well behaved kid who never got into trouble and always had good grades, he saw all that in Luna.

"Tell me how then" the kid genius perked up at the news of a solution,

He saw such a bright future in her life that was just like his.

He needed to destroy all of that just like he did to his own life.

"I have power that comes from Obscura, it's the world where you can see that which can't be seen, no one knows where it is, how it is, or why it is, but it's there. All your answers are in there and all you have to do is open a portal and see what you have never seen before."

"But isn't Obscura a bad place?" Luna asked sheepishly,

"Bad, Good, I don't know, if you were given the power to see where your parents are, would that be a bad thing?"

She felt her heart tugging at her desire, she couldn't deny that she wanted to have this power and she was not able to see the potential consequences of taking this action.

"Okay I'll get some power from Obscura, how do I do that?" Luna asked

Rune looked up at the ceiling and smiled,
"Maybe your good friend Juno can teach you how"

Suddenly a dark purple blob drops from the ceiling and down to the floor and everything goes dark.

Author's note: as of finishing this chapter it is confirmed that "Obsura" is the name of the realm but not the entity that is controlling Rune. I will not be giving it a name but I do hope that the game add new strikers from the realm of Obscura and even the one who is ordering Rune around so we can finally understand the mystery behind the dark world.
