"Don't cry baby, Abby's right here." I slowly rub circles in my cousin's back. Dawn looks up at me, "not for long." I crouch down to her level and fling my arms open.

Dawn runs into them and starts sobbing uncontrollably. I squeeze her tight, holding back my own tears for her. "Listen," I whisper, "I'll be back, I promise." She just nods her head into my shoulder. We stayed like that for a while.

Why do I have to love this youngin so much? Don't even think like that Ice, you know exactly why. Yeah I remember.

Flash back *****
I don't want to move it, it hurts. My mom looks at me, "If you don't walk on your ankle soon, I'll have to take you to those classes that teach you how to walk. Do you want that?"

I don't want it, but maybe I need it. I don't remember how to walk without limping. I shake my head no. I will not be crippled at 7, I'll figure out a way to walk again, without classes. "Alright then, let's go home."

She walked out of school and got in the car, forcing me to follow in my wheel chair. I got in the car, and stayed silent for the ride, lost in thought. I'm already an outcast, those classes will just make it worse. I have to start walking again, If only I remembered how!

The car came to a stop, and I got out not bothering with my wheel chair. I hopped to my house and went inside. I found my cousins there. Monkey, my second cousin, he's way older, he's my mom's first cousin, his wife, and their daughter were all here.

I wonder why they're here. I look for clues, but find none. Oh, well, it doesn't matter anyway. Music starts playing, and Dawn starts running around the living room. I take a seat in between Monkey and his wife in the floor.

She's so lucky, I'd be so happy just to walk again. I scoot closer to get a better look. I look at her legs. That's it! That's how I need to move!
End of Flashback*****

She taught me how to walk again. I wouldn't be able to do most of the things I love without her. No sports, no dancing, I couldn't even play certain instruments. I grab Dawn's arms and gently push her back from me, still keeping her close.

"I love you Ray." Dawn grins at me, I haven't used her Nickname in forever. "I love you too Abby." I smile and hug her. "I have to go sweet heart." Her smiles drops instantly. I hug her tighter, and grab her hands.

They're so tiny. I hold them, and squeeze them once before letting go. I step back. If I don't go now, I won't be able to leave. Dawn pouts, "I'll miss you." My eyes start to water, "I'm sorry, I'll miss you too. I love you, Dawn."

I sit down in the car, where the rest of my family is waiting, looking annoyed. Fuck y'all too. Dawn smiles sadly, "Love you too, bye." I bite my lip to keep from sobbing. "Bye." I shut the car door, and wave to her as we drive off.

In my head I say what I didn't out loud so I wouldn't break down. I love you more than you will ever know. You're like a sister, best friend, and daughter rolled into one to me. I don't want to go but I have no choice. I'll be back. I turn my thoughts back to the moving car. Here we go, I guess.
