Everyone was in the banquet hall. I could hear the crowd from the end of the hall as Knives, Claice and I walked towards the doors. Just before I stepped into the hall someone grabbed my wrist.

I looked back and saw it was Talaya. "Ghost what are you doing?" She asked.

"Talaya I need your help. You trained with the army right?"

She nodded.

"So you'd know where the nearest base it."

"Yes."

"You have to warn them. We can't get in contact with them from here and that might be our only way. They'd have a way to communicate with headquarters. Take Theis with you so you can get there safely."

"We can't leave you here. The soldiers already left us, we can't leave aswell."

"It won't matter if we're all dead. We'll be fine. We're soldiers too."

She nodded. "Okay."

I forced a smile, then stepped into the dining hall.

Everyone was there milling around and chatting. Spark was sitting on a turned over table looking puzzled. I guess I hadn't really explained to him what I was doing. I realized that was kind of unfair.

I went over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He looked up and his deep green eyes met mine. He was biting his lip.

"Hey" I said. "Thanks."

He forced a smile and nodded. He didn't bother to ask what I was planning. I think he knew.

He helped me flip the table over. Then I climbed onto it and stood up.

A few people noticed and looked over in confusion, but I needed to do something to get their attention.

Suddenly I lost all my confidence. What was I doing? I wasn't capable of handling something like this. I was way out of my shell meddling with things I didn't understand. As if we were right and the army was wrong. I was just a stupid teenager that couldn't properly handle grief.

Then I met Spark's calm, composed eyes and was flooded with reassurance. He nodded as if to say 'you got this.'

I cleared my throat. "Guys!" It definitely wasn't the most powerful opening. I tried to sound a lot more confident than I felt. My voice captured their attention and reigned them in. Confused and expectant faces were turned upwards towards me. I took a deep breath.

"As I'm sure all of you know, the monster known as the Thunder is predicted to break from it's parallel universe and into ours, completely destroying the planet if unchallenged. The army have detected the time and location that this occurrence will take place, but their data is wrong. After thoroughly going through every aspect of the calculations a few students were able to figure out the moment in which the Thunder will come into our world.

"But the communications are down, and we have no way or informing the army of our findings or warning them that their soldiers will be too late. We are the only ones who know this and the only ones who can help. Talaya and Thies will travel to the closest base in attempt to get in contact with headquarters and warn them. Claice will stay and try to get the communication systems back up and running. And the rest of us are going to do whatever it takes to save our planet.

"We have exactly one day, nineteen hours to get to the provided location before the Thunder rips the barrier between our worlds." I let this information sink it.

"More than a third of our family was turned to ash this morning."

I hesitated before continuing.
