~Kamree's POV~

Shawn and I had made a lot of progress the next couple of days. We had chosen most of the songs and worked on them together. By the time Wednesday rolled around, my fingertips were beyond callused and my voice was scratchy.

Hayes had snuck into my room at five in the morning to tell me goodbye. He was going to a dirt bike tournament all day and wouldn't see me until later that night.

"Be safe, please." I said. He was criss crossed on my bed with me on his lap and my legs wrapped around his waist.

"Aren't I always?" He said sarcastically.

I smiled into his neck as he played with my morning hair.

"Hey Kamree?" I hummed in response. "So... there's this thing called DigiFest." I pulled away to look into his eyes. "And I was invited to it..." He looked at me with worry.

"Okay...?" I was confused. What's DigiFest and why does it sound like a bad thing that he was invited?

He sighed. "DigiFest is like MagCon but there will be a TON of people like us there. Famous singers, other Viners, and YouTubers."

"That's great!" I said. I knew he was famous and it was awesome that he'd get to go hang out with his friends and meet his fans.

"Yeah but... it's in New York."

"What?! That's awesome! I've always wanted to go there!"

"I'll be there for nine days." He added quietly. "I leave this week."

The gravity of the situation hit me. Hayes would be gone for over a week. No matter when he left, he would miss my birthday.

"Oh," I lowered my head and stared at my hands in my lap. I didn't want to affect his decision to go, so I didn't tell him about the birthday part. He needs to do this and I need to stop being so selfish.

"Kamree, I'm sorry--"

I jerked my head up and interrupted him. "Don't be." I gave him a big smile and a quick peck on the lips. "I'm excited for you! This is an amazing opportunity!"

He searched my eyes doubtfully. "Really?"

I nodded and took charge when I realized he didn't believe me.

I leaned back into his neck and slowly kissed the cool skin. Running my hands up his back, I tangled my fingers in his hair.

He groaned when I found his sweet spot. His hands traveled to my shoulders as he pushed me away. His breath was short and sharp as he brought my mouth to his. I tugged at the bottom of his shirt and pulled away as he lifted his arms. Once I had removed the fabric from his chest, I sat back and stared at how gorgeously toned he was.

I smiled and shook my head in disbelief of how I got so lucky.

Then I slowly pushed him backwards on my bed with my hands on his bare chest and leaned down to him. I moved my hands to either side of his head and kissed him once. I was going to tease him but before I could, he pulled me back down by my neck. What was supposed to be a simple kiss, turned into a very heated make out session.

Hayes had flipped our position and would have gone further if his phone wouldn't have rang.

He cursed and pulled away breathing hard. He looked at me apologetically.

"It's my mom." He kissed my cheek and slid off my bed, grabbing his shirt. "I'll come see you tonight before I leave."

"You leave tonight?!" I thought we would have at least one more day together.
