Dylan and I decided to go for a walk. We needed to figure some things out. So, we would give it a try. We would give us a try but not everything was said and done with that. There was still a scandal going on that needed to be fixed. We needed to find a way to make sure neither of us were the bad guy. I'd told Dylan that Jess was the one who went to the paparazzi with the story but to my surprise he wasn't mad at all. He said he understood that she wanted to revenge me, he'd just hoped she'd do it in another way. We tried to find a solution so we'd both be out of trouble but it didn't matter how hard me tried, we couldn't come up with one. Of course we could both confirm that me and Dylan were just friends and that the picture of me getting in his car was just because he was picking me up and nothing more. But then there was still the problem that we would have to pretend that we were just friends. Then there was the matter that he and Britt had suddenly broken up. No one would believe I was just a friend. Suddenly an idea popped up in my head. It seemed the only possible way to fix all of this.

"How much does Britt hate you right now?" I asked. Dylan looked up at me, not understanding at all.

"I'm not sure if she hates me, I think she's just disappointed in me. Why are you asking?"

"Do you think she'd help us?" Dylan grabbed my hand to make me stop. I turned around to face him.

"What's your plan Charlie?"

"If we could get Britt to tell you guys had broken up months ago and that I'm just your new girlfriend and not your mistress then everything will be alright. The fans won't hate you or me. They'll just assume we kept our love secret for a while." Dylan nodded his head agreeing.

"That could work." He murmured under his breath. "I'm gonna give her a call, right now." He grabbed his phone out of the pocket of his jeans and dialed her number. He brought the thing up to his ear and waited for her to pick up. It was quiet for a while until I could hear a sound on the other end of the line and Dylan spoke again. "Britt. Hey, it's me. I need to talk to you." A pause. "I know that I hurt you but I'm gonna have to ask you a favor. Can we meet up today?" Another pause. "Great, I'll see you in a bit." And with that he ended the conversation.

"What did she say?" I asked. Dylan grabbed my hand again and we continued our walk.

"She's willing to listen to me. She's coming to my place in an hour."

"Should I come with you?" He shook his head.

"No. No I better handle this alone. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to bring the girl I cheated with on her when she's giving me a chance to talk." I nodded my head understanding. He squeezed my hand lightly, telling me not to worry but I did. What if Britt wasn't willing to help us? Which I would understand of course but then we were fucked. I deeply exhaled, hoping everything would work out.

DYLAN O'BRIEN POV:

I unlocked the door to my apartment, opening it with a small heart. I was so nervous. Can you believe that? I was nervous to see the girl I'd been dating for years again. When I opened the door and she smiled at me I slightly calmed down. I smiled back, greeted her and took a step backwards, allowing her to get in. She followed me to the living room and we sat down on the couch. It was quiet for a second until I finally grew some balls and broke it.

"So uhm." I started. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry for what I've done. I never meant to hurt you."

"It's a bit too late for that Dyl. You did hurt me." Her words stung. I felt like such a terrible person. It didn't matter what I said because I could never heal the pain I'd caused, with her and with Charlotte. I nodded my head, agreeing with her.
