╰┈➤ the two sat on jackson's bed before he broke the silence by asking, "so, are you okay?"
"honestly?"
"honestly."
gabriela took a deep breath, "no, i'm not. my dad was supposed to come home on the weekend but he came home early and i just met his fiancée, she's like his sixth, maybe seventh wife. i've lost track! but i don't know, i just couldn't be there so i left and i wasn't sure where to go, because all of my friends were busy, even though i could really use them right now so i asked you because... i don't know why! but i don't know it feels like i can't breathe now and, wait am i crying?"
the girl reached up to her cheek, it was wet, and laughed slightly, "yeah i'm crying."
jackson leaned forward and wrapped the girl in a hug.
"woah, what're you doing?" she asked him
"it's called a hug, gabby, i'm hugging you."
she wrapped her arms around him and let herself be engulfed by his presence for a while. it was nice.
she pulled away and sniffled slightly, "thank you, jackson."
"anytime." he paused in thought, "hey, if you need to you can stay here tonight."
"oh, no that's fine, i don't wanna trouble you or your paren--"
"gabby, it's fine, i want to help. let me."
the girl looked at him, scanning his face momentarily. all she saw was kindness, sympathy, and a friend.
"only if you're 100% fine with it."
"i am."
"okay."
jackson stood up, his hand out. gabby took it and stood up as well. he led her down the stairs and out the front door of his house. he took out his car keys and his porsche beeped.
"nice whip. silver porsche 911 carrera s."
the boy looked at her, stunned, "you know your stuff."
"i do indeed, whittemore."
he laughed, "get in the car, cruz."
"where are we going?" she asked once in the car.
he started it up, "you'll see."

he parked at the video rental store, he opened his door and rushed around to the passenger side, opening the door for gabriela.
"what a gentleman," she joked as she got out of the car.
the two walked into the store, "okay, so, i say we watch a couple movies tonight, maybe order a pizza?" jackson asked.
"sounds like my life being fulfilled," gabriela laughed.
they picked out a few movies, 'ten things i hate about you', 'the terminal', 'memento', and 'the outsiders'.

the pizza had been ordered and delivered, and halfway through the first movie, a ring at the door caught their attention. jackson paused the movie and stood up to answer the door, gabby still munching on a slice of margherita pizza. she felt her phone buzz, she took it out, to see a message from stiles.
'hey sorry, was out with dad, you okay? you can come over."
she types back a reply,
'it's fine dw about it, i'm okay now <3'
and she put her phone back in her pocket. she didn't need to think about stiles right now. gabriela had to admit, she was pretty much, head over heels in love with stiles, just like cameron james was in love with bianca stratford in ten things i hate about you. but stiles always had feelings for lydia martin. it was about time to get over him right?
jackson returned to the room, "it was, your dad. not sure how her found you but he gave me some clothes to give you." he said and plopped down beside gabby.
"oh."
as the night went on the two watched all of the movies they rented, and ate a lot of pizza. they started to get tired, so gabriela slept in one of the many guest rooms at the whittemore residence. his parents were surprisingly okay with her staying over, "anything for a friend of jackson's" they'd said.
"goodnight, gabby."
"night, jackson."
maybe, just maybe, jackson wasn't as bad as she'd thought.
