Iseul
I was back for my daily routine after a month of recovery. That day, when I gained consciousness, I saw my father sitting beside me, who looked like as if he hadn't had a brink of sleep. The first question that came in my mind was 'Who brought me here.'
I barely remember someone helping me, putting me onto their lap, telling me to stay conscious. I don't remember who helped me and it puts me in an embarrassing situation. I was fishing for some instant ramen in the supermart and stepped out in my baggy pants and the hood of the jacket overhead, covering my tousled hair.
I was deeply absorbed with my inner thoughts when a bike that was coming my way, stopped just an inch before I could have revisited the heaven. The ramen bowl that I was holding onto, fell to the concrete road as I stared at the person through the helmet he was wearing.
"Be careful."
Those cat like eyes were unknowingly similar before they stared at me the last time before rushing past me on the superbike, the sound of exhaust echoing as he passed by. The aesthetic city lights accompanied with the light drizzle, made him look like a main character of a story.
I was still awestruck by those beautiful pair of cat eyes that I didn't even realise that I was standing in front of my apartment. I felt strangely happy and butterflies in my stomach even though I didn't see that face properly.
Jake
"Jake, you are late for the morning practice. Being a team captain, you should set a good example for your teammates. Go and cover ten rounds of the ground." My coach was utterly disappointed at me as I cursed myself internally for being late due to the hangover from the previous night. I barely slept for an hour before reaching here. I would waste a goddamn hour to complete ten rounds of this huge ass ground. I cannot simply quit this easily.
I was busy covering my fourth round as I blasted some music to my ears to unknowingly crash into a girl who was standing and randomly staring at the sky. She had angelic lips, innocent eyes and her hair that were being brushed by the breeze made her look like a goddamn goddess. She was wearing a crepe bandage around her head.
The strawberry milk that she was sipping got all over me as she looked at me at shock, mumbling numerous apologies as she came closer to me to brush off my clothes. I immediately grew shy as I held her hand, indicating her not to do that. My heart was pounding so loud that I bet that she was able to hear it too.
I reached my hand forward to help her to pick up her books and being stupid enough, I bumped into her head once again. I smiled shyly at my stupid actions, but before that I could see her holding her forehead in pain. I think I must have hit her really hard.
"Just breathe in, and now out." I guided her to take deep breaths as I awkwardly had held my hands out for her to catch if she may fall. "Thanks, uhm, Jake?" She said out my name awkwardly as my lips crept into a huge smile. I was famous on the campus, and most of the girls surely swooned over me and that is why everyone knows my name.
I felt a connection with her.
"I owe you another one of that." I said, pointing towards the strawberry milk can. She nodded hesitantly. "Meet me here, tomorrow morning." I smiled at her as she nodded and proceeded to walk away. I got back to the locker, forgetting about the incomplete rounds. I needed an excuse to meet her daily.
