You really can skip this part since most of it will be explained, especially the magic. The only thing you might want to skim is the people for those who don't show up but are mentioned/referenced.

Because I have not yet finished writing the book, I don't know exactly what will show up in it. This is the stuff that I know for sure will play a role so far.



TERMS

plurals are made by adding "-ra" (remove final vowel if there is one)


canca [kahng-ka] — A Coéndoréen plant most commonly used for smoking.

cant (strings) [cahnt] — Magical strings that make up everything.

cantisang [cahnt-i-sahng] — The name of the magic system. The manipulation of cant strings. Anyone can learn.

⠀⠀⠀aspon cantisang [as-pohn] — A form of cantisang that can only be performed by people born with the ability. Manipulates strings that are unavailable to normal people.

cheld (horse) [cheld] — Wild horse thing with four eyes and really long fur. They're small but can be bred with horses to be a little bigger. Found on An-Étan

laho [lah-ho] — A plant. A mild sedative most notable for its fragrant aroma.

lyt [lit] — The main unit of currency in Coéndoré, equal to twelve xyra. A coin. Legal tender in Sainsland.

ylura [i-loor-a] — Multi-eyed furry creatures that come from the ground (they crawl up to Saguré from Élépon). The ones on land are most commonly found on An-Étan. There are also ones that live in the oceans.

mahhe [mah-hay] — A plant used to make a strong sedative for pain relief, anxiety relief, and sleep. It is only legal for medical use.

miur [mewr] — Ylura blood; premier Coéndoréen luxury, of An-Étan. Potent soporific and toxic under certain conditions (of when it was harvested). Can be mixed with hard liquor. It can also be packaged in bars known as "sticky miur," which is usually eaten during hunting because it lasts a long time.

mymia [mih-mee-a] — Big multi-tailed, multi-eyed cat thing found on An-Étan that likes eating ylura organs, especially hearts.

sieta [sew-ta] — A scavenger that feasts on the bodies of ylurra. They especially like blood. All hunting sietra are raised and trained by the Siges.

siag-mare [syah-mah-ray] — Hunters of the land. Just called hunters.

suan-mare [swan-mah-ray] — Hunters of the sea.

takka [tahk-a] — Mushed, caramelized canca for chewing.

tungla [toong-gla] — A plant harvested in divine lands. The stem and leaves are bitter and can be eaten in small amounts but in larger amounts can induce vomiting and potentially death. The flower is illegal except for hunters (they can do whatever they want). Psychedelic. Common symptoms are losing time and memories, vomiting, "seeing strings," and hearing ringing sounds.
