It's my third day here and thankfully, it's been somewhat normal. Kinda. The "ghosts" or whatever are still making the occasional appearance, I seriously hope that they don't plan on continuing this prank for the rest of camp only to reveal it on the last day or something.

"So I was sitting there, waiting for this bitch to try picking a fight, but when she comes up to me she hands me her number and says 'You're really cute, let's go out sometime.' Like bitch?! I was about to knock your teeth out and you were trying to flirt?!" yells Ruthie.

I just learned that Ruthie is bi, and the story she's telling us is how she met her ex. Lailani has not stopped laughing for several minutes as she rolls around in the grass, I'm starting to worry she's not breathing.

"Seriously," I say, stretching my legs out in front of me, "You have some wacky stories Ruth. I have some funny ones here and there but I've got nothing on you."

She smiles proudly, before Jacob walks over and she rolls her eyes. They're twins, but unlike Calder and I, they don't get along well at all. "What do you want?" she asks sharply.

He rolls his eyes back at her. "Fuck, all I want to ask is if I can I borrow your hairbrush for my friend, her hair's a mess."

Ruthie sighs and stands up, dusting grass off her shorts. "Yeah sure whatever, as long as I get it back. I only brought the one."

Just as Ruthie walks up to her brother, she stops and sniffs the air around him. A deep scowl forms on her face and she glares at Jacob like he just stepped on her foot or something. Then she grabs him by the arm and drags him away.

Lailani and I look at each other. I point over my shoulder. "Do you know what that was about?"

"Not a clue. If I had to guess though Jacob probably did something stupid again."

My phone dings in my pocket, and I pull it out. Mom texted me? "Hold on, my mom just texted me."

The brunette nods and starts looking at her own phone.

Her: Hey sweetie
how's camp been so far? Anything exciting?

Me: Nothing much, just annoyed by the stupid prank all the returning campers and counselors are pulling

Her: What prank are they pulling?

Me: They're trying to scare all of us by telling us all this stuff that keeps happening is because of ghosts
Even though it's perfectly explainable

Her: Ghosts huh? Well what makes you so sure they aren't telling the truth?

Me: Not you too mom.
I'm already stuck here at this stupid camp with everyone telling me it's haunted, I don't need to hear that from you too.

Her: I was just saying. I haven't been there in a long time I don't know what their talking about these days.

Me: Yeah well I've gtg
Love ya

"Sorry Lani, I'm gonna go find my brother real quick. Talk later ok?"

"Of course girl. See ya." she smiles.

I find Calder walking out of our cabin and catch him on the porch. "Yo Cal. Did Mom just text you too?"

He nods, "Yeah, she asked how camp's going. Did she ask you the same?"

"Yeah, what'd you tell her?"

"That camp's going fine? What else would I tell her?"

"I don't know, maybe something about the whole ghost prank or how weird everyone is about it? You're being way too chill about this."
