In a quiet corner of Beerus's planet, the God of Destruction himself sat, he was absently staring out at the vast cosmos. His mind was troubled, and his thoughts were filled with an unexpected sense of failure. Beside him, Whis was quietly enjoying a cup of tea, but his eyes held an understanding gaze.
"Whis..." Beerus began, his voice carrying an unusual tone of vulnerability.
"I must admit something that I find quite disturbing."
Whis looked up from his tea, his eyes reflecting curiosity, "Oh? And what might that be, Lord Beerus?"
"I think... I think I have failed as a parent." Beerus confessed, his words filled with a rare sense of uncertainty.
Whis's eyes widened slightly, but he maintained his calm demeanor, "Well, that is indeed an interesting observation. Would you like to elaborate?"
Beerus sighed, leaning back in his chair, "I always thought being a God of Destruction was my only duty. I thought that when Y/N was born I would only screw him up. I left his Mother, I didn't think I could be a good parent. But after seeing Y/N, after witnessing his strength and conviction, I can't help but feel that I've failed him."
Whis set down his tea, leaning forward to engage in the conversation fully, "You speak of the way he stood up to you, the way he's forged his own path?"
"Yes." Beerus nodded, his eyes clouded with regret.
"He's so strong, so independent. And yet, I never guided him, never nurtured him. I just... ignored him. I thought he would be my rival The Super Saiyan God so I only viewed him as such."
Whis tilted his head, considering Beerus's words. "Perhaps this realization is a chance for growth, both for you and for Y/N. Maybe you can finally realize that you need to take your responsibilities more seriously."
Beerus frowned, perplexed, "What do you mean?"
Whis smiled, his eyes twinkling with wisdom. "You see, Lord Beerus, parenthood is never easy. And as a God, the concept might be even more foreign to you. But the fact that you recognize your failure is the first step towards making amends."
"But how?! How do I make amends with Y/N? How do I become a father to him?" Beerus asked, feeling a pang of desperation.
Whis leaned back, his eyes thoughtful, "I've been on Earth for the past few months spending time with Bulma. She's shown me multiple different variations of Human food, and I must say, they're quite delightful. But more importantly, I've learned about family, about connections and nurturing."
Beerus raised an eyebrow, "And you think this has something to do with Y/N?"
"Indeed, I do. You see I've met Y/N once or twice during my visits on Earth and he seamed happy. The others have invited him as one of their own treating him like family. Bulma even offered to get him somewhere to live. He's been training with Goku and Vegeta, even getting close to their children who've grown really close to him." Whis began taking a small breath before he continued.
"He's basically become part of their family. Maybe it's because he already was family to some of them back in the other timeline but he really cares for them. Perhaps you could offer your planet as a sort of training grounds for Y/N and the Z Warriors. It would be an opportunity for them to grow stronger, and for you and Y/N to grow closer."
Beerus's eyes widened, the idea resonating with him. "A training grounds? Here?!"
"Yes. It would be a gesture of goodwill, and a chance for you. to prove that you want to be apart of his life. And obviously it would be an opportunity for all of you to grow stronger. You have been slacking off too much." Whis said, snickering at his own little joke.
