Chapter 21

After getting a deal with the Gold Dragon about free quality food and lodging for three months Cale grabbed some people from his party to go to Litana, the Queen of the Jungle.

"May I come with you Young Master Cale?"

"Edel!" Choi Han proceeded to gleam his puppy eyes towards Cale as for asking "Please Cale-nim let him come!"

"N- Err- Yes." Darnit! Choi Han would beat him if won't let this punk come! But the Cale reconsidered: Edel is not so vicious as this damn protagonist and the Molan duo.

 "I will try to not be a burden to your party," Edel added humbly.

At this point, not even a God could stop him from coming with them.

"Who told you can casually come and go human?" Eruhaben inquired the young Stan

Edel turned around just to look at Eruhaben with his emotionless yet pure eyes

"...come back with them and don't try to run away."

Is being under a Dragon's gaze really a blessing as many said?

Maybe? He didn't know.

"May I ask now why Edel was with the Golden Dragon?" Choi Han asked carefully while they were on the way to the Path of No Return, one of the Five Forbidden Regions.

"Haha...I thought Choi Han-nim had already forgotten..."

Each member of the group now has their attention directed at him

"...the snowflakes are part of winter...I suddenly missed the comfort that winter can bring to me. So I headed toward Mount Yellia, I didn't know the existence of a dragon there, a dying one nonetheless". 

Days before

Edel encountres Eruhaben. Uncaring, he looked at the puny being expressionlessly.

"I guess well done on getting here." the Golden Dragon responded carelessly.

Who would be happy having a stranger in front of your home?

"I really hate that innocent expression of yours, punk". 

Edel did not realize his long thoughts until he noticed an ethereal being half meters from him now. He even forgot to show some respect (bad, really bad!)

How much courage would it take for a normal human, who would rather avoid his brothers than an adult dragon in front of him, to stand proudly without shivering from the cold of this mountain? And now the Dragon Fear too. 

Eruhaben glared at him as if Edel was worthless garbage, uhh- even worse maybe

Then Edel spoke up.

"It's my utmost honor to encounter a mighty being like you, without fearing that I may be on the verge of standing at heaven's gate".

After minutes of awkward silence, Eruhaben broke out a heart-filling laugh that lasted forever in Edel's perspective

"Ha! Tell me, what's that cursed power that you are bearing?"

Edel knew perfectly what was the dragon asking. Thought he really wanted to avoid telling the dragon about it.

He is not envious of how other creatures could use freely the source from nature: mana.

"...a cursed power...is it?"

He knew that he had had enviable times as well.

It's just that he sometimes feels a little regretful.

Because of this "cursed power," Edel has forgotten a lot of things...

What he forgot at first was their voices, but gradually he couldn't even remember what they looked like. And in a few years, he would forget the patients he treated, his family, the Young Master Cale, and the newly acquired friends during his journey. 

But "I never had the time to think about an uncertain future."

So he decided to unfold the truth. Also, it is no use to lie: the golden dragon would immediately spot him and smash his head for his spiteful attitude.

"No, I think about it a little differently from you, sir."
