days passed and the number just kept going up. Theo is in the same condition. There are now 60 people infected with this thing in our town, whatever it is. Andy is back to sleeping in her own room. Elias and I have been texting nonstop. He's not a bad person to talk to. I think he may be my best friend at the moment. He's really lonely right now and I wish I could do something. I know what I have to do but I don't think mama will let me do it. I got an alert. 65 people were infected, 30 dead. At that time, I got a call from mama. Theo has miraculously gotten better! This is unheard of! He's coming home tomorrow! After mama finishes telling me the news, I tell her I need to talk to her when she gets home. She gets worried but I tell her it's nothing bad. She says she has to go and so we hang up. I get anxious. how am I going to convince her??
I see Mama's car pull into the driveway. Andy and I run out to meet Theo. He looks great and we're all thankful he's alive. Mama takes him to his room, and he lays in bed. He says the bed at the hospital was very uncomfortable. I'm downstairs sitting at the table when mama comes down. "You said you needed to talk to me about something?" she asks. I say yes and then explain what happened to Elias's mother. there are tears in her eyes, and she says "poor boy. I wish there was something we could do." "There is mama" I tell her, "I know you might not like this idea, but we have an air mattress!" I see hesitation in her face. "Before you say anything" I say quickly. "He has money so he can pay whatever you need him to. He has a job at some company online. He's a really lovely guy, mama, he needs someone." I see her face relax. "Is he pressuring you to ask?? Is this coming from you or from him??" she asks. "Me, mama. He doesn't even know." I answered, "I wanted to ask you first before I got his hopes up." "I don't know Ella, I'll have to think about it." she tells me "I'll let you know by tonight." she answers. I get a little scared, but I go to my room and watch tv.
"Ella??" mama calls from downstairs. i go down there. "I've been thinking" she says, "he genuinely seems like he needs some support right now." she explains "he can stay. but if there's any issues, he will leave." "AHHH THANK YOU MOM!! ILL GO TELL HIM RIGHT NOW." I say while squeezing her with my hug. I run upstairs and I text Elias. "Hey Elias, I know you're going through a lot right now and you feel alone, so I talked to my mom, and she said you can stay here for a little if you want." I text him. "WAIT, FOR REAL??" he asks "yes" I answer. "Do you want me to come and pick you up?" I ask "yes, give me two hours." he answers. just then I hear a knock at my door. "Come in!" I say. it's Andy, she seems worried. "what's wrong kiddo??" I ask her "I overheard mama tell you your friend can come stay here." she says. "Yes, his mom just passed from this condition and he's very alone right now." I explain. "I get that" she says "but I'm worried that you won't spend as much time with me." "aww Andy!" I say "of course I will still spend time with you! you can come in whenever you want!" I explain. "ohhhh" she says "so it's not that kind of boy friend then" I start laughing and she does too. "Hey, do you want to go with me to pick him up?" I ask. "Sure! can we also get some chick fil a?" she asks "of course we can" I answer.
