We head to my car and drive home. all the way there, Andy stares out the window the whole time. We get home and our mother is furious. "ESTELLA RIVERA! HOW DARE YOU SKIP SCHOOL WITH YOUR SISTER?? AND YOU, ANDREA RIVERA! HOW DARE YOU GO ALONG WITH THIS?" she yells. "Mom!" I beg "please listen, this is serious!" I see her face change. "Andy, go upstairs." I hear her door shut. "Mom, Alana is in the hospital. so is Ezra." I explain "WHAT?? HOW COME I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS????" she yells "I don't know mom, keep it down for Andy's sake." I beg. "I will go pick up Theo once his school gets out. Just please go easy on Andy." I ask. "Alright Ella. just let me know whenever you leave in the future?" "I will."
Two hours passed and I knew I had to pick up Theo in a little while. I had an idea though. "Mama, can I take Andy with me, and we can go out for a snack or something?" "Yes, of course. I called Alana's mom and Andy can go see her if she wants." "Ok let me go ask her" I walk upstairs and knock on Andy's door. "Hey Andy, can I talk to you?" "Yea sure." "Mom talked to Alana's mom. she said you can come visit for a little while before we pick up Theo." Andy lit up instantly. "I CAN??" she said enthusiastically. "Yes," I said laughing. "Get your crocs on and meet me downstairs. don't take too long."
She comes downstairs and we get ready to leave. Mama sends Andy to the car and says she needs to speak to me. "Look out for her." she pleads. "don't worry mama, I've got her." I reason. "Ok Ella, drive safely." I walk out of the door and get in the car. We headed for the hospital. when we get there, they have us put a mask on as a precaution. We go up to Alana's room and she doesn't look too good. Andy goes in and sits by her bed while I talk to Alana's mom. "How is she doing?" I ask. "It's not looking good." my heart drops. "Do they know what it is?" "No, they don't. it's not a viral thing, they don't believe." she explains. "I'm so sorry. I really hope she gets better." "I hope she does too. Thank you for bringing Andy." She thanks me. "Any time!".
"Andy, are you ready to go?" I called her. "I guess..." we say our goodbyes and head to the car. Once we get in the car, I ask where she wants to get a snack from. She says chick fil a. we go to pick up Theo from his school and we head to chick fil a. I got a thing of fries, Theo got some chicken nuggets and Andy got some fruit. Andy is allergic to milk, just like me. Theo is lactose intolerant, but that doesn't stop him. We get home and Theo and Andy go upstairs while I stay downstairs and talk to mama. "It's not looking too good Ella." she says with a sad look on her face. "Andy is going to be devastated." "I know Ella. Can you keep her company?" she asks. "Of course, I can mama. Are you going to bring her down here and talk to her?" I ask. "Yes, I am," she answered. "Can I be down here too?" I ask. "Yes please."
