This happens right after the the purgatory trio found Meliodas
Meliodas: I'd completely given up on going back I honestly didn't think I'd ever be able to get out of purgatory at all or see elizabth, you kenken and ban or anyone else this is a real shock but why are you three in purgatory anyway
Kenji: are you that dense uncle we came looking for you
Ban: and we're going to bring you back home
Jericho: and I could leave my little rouge by himself for that long
Meliodas: wait a second you three know of a way back is that what you are saying
They all realise something immediately they do not know how to get out
All: Uhhh
Meliodas: all three of you are stupid you all recklessly dove in without knowing how to get back out again
Ban: give us a break
Kenji: yeah we couldn't just leave you alone in this crap hole
Jericho: plus you need to get back to be with elizabth and we'll make sure that happens
Meliodas: guess it pays to have idiots for friends
Kenji: and it also seems that being an idiot runs in the family
Jericho: or it just rubs off on you I swear I was smarter before I joined this bunch of misfits
Kenji: oh please vixey your just as much of a misfit as all of us

Meliodas then explains purgatory
There are two types of creatures that live here
The beasts that the trio turned into
And then there's the indigenous species, they where born here and have substance they have evolved to live and thrive in purgatory they can make clothes and food out of them
Kenji: heh hunting sounds fun
Jericho: yeah it does
Ban: LETS DO IT
After a really long time they actually manage to hunt a few down and this is done by getting a hell of alot stronger
They find themselves at a cave sight
Meliodas: you know you three are pretty amazing you know
Kenji is carving the meat
Ban is flattening out the hide
Jericho is making the clothes since which she was surprisingly good at
Meliodas was making a weapon out of bone
Ban: oh what's the the sudden compliment
Jericho: yeah it's not like you wouldn't of done the same for any of us
Kenji: he's right I mean right now your other self is trying to become the demon king to save Elizabeth
Meliodas, thanks for everything all of you
All: heh no problem
Ban: well to catch you up merlin told us you'd been captured by the demon king and held up somewhere and this made sense
Meliodas: at first I was held captive by father, and he kept watch over me I spent a lot of time looking for the exit I was determined to return to my real from so I gave up and fell into despair
