The stars twinkled overhead as Naruto breathed in the night air, The hidden leaf was a city hidden from most others. The hidden leaf also had the highest amount of slums with people suffering day in day out as the nobles continued on with their lives not even batting an eye at the slums, unless they wanted to find a victim to do their bidding without being traceable. Naruto was one of the unfortunate ones who were searched for to do things he'd never imagine him doing. Naruto was hiding in a broken down house as the streets were being searched for any indication of where the blonde went. "Naruto." Naruto turned his head to see who called his name and there he saw his friend leaning against the door frame as he yawned.
"Oh, Shikamaru. Hehe how'd you find me" Naruto gave a cheeky smile as he stood up and faced his friend.
"It wasn't that hard, you always come to this house whenever you want to hide. Anyways Kiba is looking for you, apparently a child is hurt and begging to see you." Naruto raised an eyebrow as he walked towards Shikamaru
"A child? Where are they now?" Naruto walked faster to the door and out of the house.
"At Kibas" Shikamaru slowly followed after Naruto.
Naruto and Shikamaru were briskly walking through alleys, avoiding roads and any light as they made their way to Kibas. As the duo arrived at Kibas they were greeted by a large white dog sitting outside guarding the small house, as the dog sensed the presence of the two his back hair spiked up and a low growl could be heard warning nobody to get closer. "Akamaru it's just us, nobody else is here" Naruto softly petted Akamaru's head as the dog sat back down still keeping lookout. Naruto walked into Kiba's house without even knocking.
"Yo Kiba, I heard a kid was looking for me" Naurto peeked his head into the living room where he saw a little brunette boy sleeping on the couch with band-aids wrapped around him. Kiba quickly came out of the kitchen.
"Could have come earlier, the kid fell asleep after throwing a tantrum." Kiba sighed as he sat down on a chair near the couch.
"Or I could have not come at all if you'd preferred." Naruto eyed the child as he sat down on the floor leaning on his hands. "What did the kid want?" he asked
"I have no idea he wouldn't mention anything about it, refused to speak another word until you showed up" Kiba shrugged as he called Akamaru in.
A few hours passed before the kid stirred, the trio were watching playing card games, at the sudden noise of something moving all 3 heads turned towards the couch where the child sat staring right back at them. Naruto was the first to stand up, he walked towards the couch trying to intimidate the kid. The intimidation didn't work like how Naruto planned as the kid suddenly burst out laughing at the male not much taller than himself.
"Hey kid! Shut up, why were you looking for me" Naruto pouted as he crossed his arms and glared at the child.
"Are you Naruto? The one who helps hunt people down..?"
"Yes that's me, do you need me to hunt down someone for you?" Naruto asked proudly as the kid just stared at him in disbelief
"..You must be joking. You don't look much older than me!" The kid bursted out
"Hey! I'm 15. I'll let you know that I don't have to help you! Damn kid" Naruto grumbled as Kiba snicked from the ground.
"Wait, I'm sorry, please help!" The kid pleaded as Naruto smirked.
"I guess I can forgive your ignorance. What's your name?" Naruto kicked Kiba.
"I'm Konohamaru!" Konohamaru stuck his hand out for Naruto to shake,
"I need you to hunt down two of my friends, a couple of nobles dragged them away a day ago!"
"Wait kids? Are they taking children now too!" Naruto stared at Konohamaru in shock.
A couple of minutes later Konohamaru explained what happened the day his friends were taken and how the nobles who took them looked. Naruto sat down on the couch next to Konohamaru as he began to think of his answer, Kiba and Shikamaru were spread out on the floor sleeping so they couldn't help Naruto decide. Naruto sighed as he leaned back and yawned, "Lemme sleep on it kid, I'll tell you my answer when I wake up" Konohamaru slowly nodded as Naruto fell asleep.
