poured on, drenched, soaked, all the other names you could possibly call it. My knees digging itself into the ground from standing in front of the grave of someone i grew fond of, someone i wanted to share my life with knowing about the rules, soon she became a blank space in my life.
i was sitting in the cemetery and i was cautioned by something to run and to not look back, if i turned back I wouldn't know if I would ever be able to do it again.
i paced myself when I made it to the entrance of the cemetery but the adrenaline to run away came hitting me in the face, I sprinted out of it and into the open road in the woods.
the only box of cigarettes I had in my pocket i hurled, letting all of them splatter on the floor like little white lines.
my chest heaving up & down, "fuck!" I yelled and footsteps behind me approach. "yang jungwon?"
i turned to face the one who had approached me, "park yeri." i gritted my teeth, "how come you're at the cemetery, wrecked looking too, came lurking for the ghosts or something?" she jokes around.
seeing that i wasn't laughing, she sensed something wrong and sensing how bratty and fucking irritating she was, she questioned me. "jungwon, what's seriously wrong...you didn't go to meet her there again did you?"
_____
"fuck you." he seethed, pointing a finger before taking off by sprinting.
yeri had been left dumbfounded but she knew how odd jungwon was and didn't want to question it further than what she already had.
the next day yeri caught jungwon trying to escape school premises, "going out to smoke? wont you let me join" she grins.
"i don't have time for jokes park." he turns around with that tiny cigarette twiddling around his index and middle finger.
"i sure you don't won, but if you're going to skip you might want to use the roof's door where there's a ladder down to the alley." I snickered, the bell rang and he headed to to where the roof was.
the bell's dismissal was for lunch, i took a seat next to my friends dayeon and hyeri. "you were talking to jungwon before the bell rang, he doesn't even talk to anyone...not after yoora's death." dayeon exhaled deeply.
"i don't know, the other day i was coming from the store i wanted some snacks and i took the short route home, where the cemetery was and i spotted him at the entrance cursing to himself and throwing his cigarettes out." i shrugged.
"i questioned if he went to the cemetery to visit Yoora but he cursed me off and ran away, then at the bell he attempted to skip class so I gave him the shortest way out." i added.
dayeon grinned, "the roof? he probably walked in on a couple making out, or even worse for that matter."
"who fucking cares, it's the shortest way out...that time they'd be the least of my problems." i burst into laughter.
"one time hyeri went through the roof to skip class and she walked into some shit, she winked at the two then went down the ladder, our older sisters weren't lying about high-school." dayeon's lips curved up.
"i've received the red string, and i've been tied to park sunghoon." dayeon folds her arms, her tone grew stern.
the red string was the line of determination, those who had received it had made contact with their soulmate.
"park sunghoon, he looks like someone who would bathe in blood, and an awful lot of pale if you tell me, almost like a vampire, he even has fangs, good luck with that for the rest of your life." hyeri bursts into tears from laughing so hard. "not to mention he's friends with Jungwon, it clicks."
"at least he's attractive, you must admit you'd rather get with him then some horrendous looking guy this school has yet to offer." Dayeon rolls her eyes.
i grinned watching hyeri pout, "I guess you're right yeon."
