_____
cemetery, it was a constant battle between coming and leaving this place. I visited my fathers grave often, hoping that jungwon wouldn't be present the same time but today he was.
"she must've been fond of you." i whisper behind him, slowly he turns around with hollow eyes. "that would've been her." he looks down at the string, "if she didn't die, that string would've been attached to us." he sneered.
"i know you're trying to warm up to me because of the string but don't because you'll always fucking be the other women, not her." he harshly set down.
my heart dropped to its lowest, a numb sensation traveled through my entire body. "I don't see what you're getting at, are you upset with me for something?" I anxiously challenged to bring it up.
a ball forms at the side of his mouth, "you know you must be really fucking stupid, the red string did I want this? no, i mourn for someone everyday and you come here trying to burn out my feelings what the hell is wrong with you."
i gulp unable to respond, "i didn't take you for that much of a bastard but that's exactly what you are, im sorry that you're mourning but it's not my fault that we're tied, do you really assume that i would've wanted to be tied to you? If I craved for affection, you would've been the last person I would think of as my soulmate. In my eyes you're the other man, you don't belong with me either." i snap, hurling the flowers that i meant to give to him to put on yoora's grave stone.
I sprinted out of the cemetery, and jungwon looked below at the picture on the stone. "i wish you were here." he whispers.
footsteps surround jungwon, "who are you?" the unfamiliar voice demands an answer from jungwon.
jungwon meets eyes with an unfamiliar male who had flowers in his hands meant to place on yoora's grave, "her classmate, im sorry who are you? a relative?"
the male's eyes hollowed,
"I'm her soulmate." he lifts up his index finger to show the red string that was broken meaning that the partner had died, the string was also shortening meaning that this male was on the road to death, to lay near his soulmate in the after life.
jungwon's heart shattered into a million pieces, "i should give you time with her, she was a pure person and she didn't deserve to be taken so soon." jungwon softly added before taking his leave.
knowing that yoora wasn't meant to be jungwon's and knowing that her life was to be shared with someone else's messed him up, he was also suddenly relieved but he felt like an asshole.
these years he'd wonder if yoora truly liked him, but now he knew the feelings were only platonic and that he had taken it in the wrong way and on top of that, let the anger get the best of him and hurt another broken soul.
tears flooded his eyes, he lit up a cigarette and smoked out of it while tears streamed down his face.
he was hurting and he never meant to lash out at yeri, he pushed away the person he's supposed to share his life with.
______
yeri silently sat in her room, basking in her own thoughts, pondering about how more fucked up her life will become.
she didn't blame jungwon, only a person who was so shattered deep down would truly understand how losing someone that held significance in your life could fuck you up in ways you couldn't imagine.
everyone eventually moves on, yeri was calm, she wasn't even phased about jungwon, not even one single tear slipped down her eyes but her head was heavy from all the stress that went down from the cemetery.
her head against the end of her bed, she closed her eyes and was left there sitting on the floor, the cold hard floor.
______
I'm just saying what I have to say, he should've seen that coming.
