Around 10 pm I woke up to the smell of my mother's cooking, bacon and eggs. I was exhausted from school last week and I'm happy that it is finally the weekend. I slowly sat up in my bed and wiped the small drool on my cheek, picking up my phone immediately to check for any missed texts or calls. I responded to a couple messages from my friend and walked downstairs to my mother in the kitchen, who had a bright smile on her face while humming quietly. "morning mom... What's up?" She turned to me with a plate while I sat on the stool that connected to our kitchen island. "Well... How do I say this.." I took a bite out of the eggs she cooked, satisfied with the flavor of her cooking. I noticed the way my mom sighed as she sat next to me, is it bad news?
"I met a guy, his name is Leo." I wasn't surprised that she had met a guy, it was a regular thing for her to meet a guy every now and then, she went on. "We have been talking for about 8 months and I invited him to come live with us. I know you haven't met him yet but he is a good guy... Oh and he has two sons, twins actually. Hopefully you guys will get along." I'm done with my food by the time she stops talking. I got up and set my dish in the sink and gave her an accepting smile.
"Wait so.. i-... I haven't met him or hung out with any of them, and now they are moving in? Seems a bit fast." My mom nodded in agreement. "He.. a situation came up so I offered him to come stay with us for awhile." I sighed and nodded, giving her a small smile before heading upstairs.
