Another long chapter, guys. Brace yourselves lol

Amari's P.O.V.
Marshall and that dude Fifty are currently locked in the recording booth, working on Fifty's new album.
Well, Fifty is in the booth, Marshall works the controls on the soundboard with a few other producers, technicians, sound engineers, whatever they called.
I'm just hanging out here with him, and honestly I am just a tad bit bored. Usually, I like to watch Marshall and work, but more so when it's just the two of us, because I can really concentrate on what he's doing then. Read his lips, make out the words to the songs he's working on, I actually find that pretty exciting. When it's a bunch of people around him, I get overwhelmed, it's hard for me to figure out exactly what's going on and it's one of those rare moments when I feel completely left out and cut off from the rest of the world because of my deafness.
I mean, obviously I am cut off in a way, but I'm normally not even aware of it. Not with the way I myself have been living in my own little world for so many years. Yes, I do feel isolated sometimes, but I normally welcome it.
Watching Marshall at work is pretty fascinating though, he always seems so concentrated on what he's doing. So completely consumed by it.
Fifty smiles on the booth, showing all his teeth, gesturing wildly with his hands, he appears to be laying on his next verse.
Marshall listens intently and he tunes it on the soundboard. He looks very much so in the zone, but I think I've been around him long enough now to see the signs of where he's exhausted. Ever since meeting Fifty, he's been obsessed with producing his album. And I know that he's also still working on his next album as well. And something his group D12 is about to put out. And he's supposed to start filming a movie soon, based loosely on his life.
That night at the bar, after he came to get me after our fight and when we went back to our hotel room, he had admitted to me that it was part of the reason for why he flipped out on me. He wanted me to move in with him so we could be together more often before he has to be so consumed by his work that we would barely see each other.
And that's honestly understandable, but still too soon. I'm not ready to live with him yet, no matter how he puts it.
Still, I took even more days off from my job so that I could hang out with him here in New York some more while he's working on Fifty's album together with Dr Dre, who is somewhere here nearby as well.
As well as all of the guys from Fifty's entourage.
One of them, I think his name is Lloyd or something, now all of a sudden goes to sit right in front of me in one of the rolling chairs in the studio room.
"Ay girl, wassup. So you really can't hear?" He asks me literally the dumbest question ever.
"I mean, I AM deaf," I shrug.
Lloyd smirks, waving his arms at me.
"You wanna teach me some sign language then?" He asks.
I frown at him, fighting the urge to roll my eyes. I do not know why he's wasting his time, to be honest. I can see right through him that he's trying to flirt with me, and he should know better than that. Everybody here knows that I'm with Marshall, I mean, he's been laying his claim on me every chance he got, to the point where it sometimes gets a little too much and annoying.
Marshall sometimes doesn't realize that even if I can't hear, I can still sense when he's doing too much, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
So no, Lloyd should know better than try to hit on me.
