More fluff because I love Soudnwave and they deserve it. :) And maybe the tiniest and ittest bittest bit of angst. Some of these moments also feel super disconnected, but I like my fluff.

Soundwave sat quietly, watching the others work in the base as they have been for at least a good few Earth days now. Suddenly, Laserbeak flew straight into them squawking and chirping enthusiastically to them. They scooped her up in their servos, nodding along to her squawks completely understanding what she meant by each one. Eventually, they started responding to her with their own whirs and chirps being just as soft-spoken as they are normally.

Laserbeak continued to excitedly chat with her parent. She goes on and on about the things she did with the human children and Bumblebee earlier. And despite, the length of her ramblings Soundwave still listened intently to her and responded just as enthusiastically.

Different Autobots watched the interaction from a distance. Optimus with a fondness for the memories of Soundwave's past and current pride in their own. Ratchet was similarly happy for them. Bumblebee just thought it was adorable, and rooting for his newly-made cybertorian bird friend. Raf thought the same as Bee, just a much calmer version of the joy. Bulkhead was pumped Laserbeak had a great relationship with Soundwave. Jack found similarities between his mom and Soundwave, the nostalgia of his young childhood hitting him like a truck. Miko took blackmail photos of the two, knowing full well none would actually work as blackmail. Even Arcee found the interaction endearing.

The Autobots left the creator-creation duo to their own devices for a while. All appreciating the happy air the small family brought to the base.

"Soundwave?"

The spy glanced at the excitable human near them. They tilted their head at her.

"Why do you treat us like we're your children? I know Laserbeak is, but why us?" The girl gestured towards the just adjacent and oblivious group of children and young bots.

They paused unsure how to continue the conversation... Tell the truth and risk traumatizing this poor child beyond the point she probably is now. Absolutely not, this human didn't need that. They hadn't even explained their whole past to Laserbeak for that very reason! Tell a lie? They felt wrong doing that... So a simplistic explanation was en route.

They nodded and spoke quietly to the girl. "Soundwave: Will share. Conditionally. Miko: Must Promise. Promise: Do not tell others."

Miko grinned wildly at them, her excitement and suspense growing. "Challenge accepted!"

They would have smiled warmly at the girl if she could see it. Instead, they presented a silly little smiley face on their visor. "Soundwave: Assured." They nodded and began the explanation, "Younger Humans and Bots: fit Soundwave's programming parameters. Programming: in place to take care of younger sparks."
