She obviously wasn't in the Christmas mood, and it didn't help that her and Janae haven't talked since their time together in the chapel. She was confused. Why would Janae avoid her for no reason? Did she do something wrong? Aaliyah has been asking herself those same two questions for the past three weeks, but she hasn't been able to answer her own questions. This whole thing gave her a migraine every time that she tried to figure it out. Why did she miss Janae so much? They barely talked. They weren't even friends. But somehow, Aaliyah still felt like she was missing a part of herself.

It was confusing since she wanted to be around her, but she also didn't. Janae felt something when she woke up to a panicked Aaliyah, shaking her desperately while looking down at her with worried eyes. Aaliyah was oddly beautiful to her. Even though Janae has been avoiding Aaliyah for three weeks now, Aaliyah was all she can think about. Aaliyah was the first thing she thought about when she woke up, and the last thing she thought about before she went to sleep. Every day, she told herself she was going to talk to Aaliyah, but she always chickened out and never did it. This was a never-ending pattern that went on for three weeks, until Aaliyah finally had enough and decided to do something about it.

Aaliyah almost said something, but she bit her tongue and looked away, and tried not to stare at Janae for too long. Finally, a few minutes later, the silence got to Aaliyah, and she finally decided to break the silence.
"Did I do something to you?" Aaliyah says softly, hesitantly looking up at Janae. Janae lets out a deep sigh, shaking her head slightly before answering Aaliyah. "Nothing, you did nothing." Janae says with a cold tone. "Then why are you avoiding me?" Aaliyah asks, waiting for her question to finally be answered. Janae just shrugs. After all of the stress Aaliyah experienced these past three weeks, all she received in response was a shrug. No words. Just a shrug.
"You're not even going to answer my question? you're just going to give me a shrug?" Aaliyah asks, with her arms crossed, now extremely confused. "I don't owe you shit." Janae says with a sassy tone, crossing her arms as well. "I never said you did. I just thought it would be nice to get a answer." Aaliyah says with a bit of irritation, finding the response from Janae a bit unnecessary. "I just don't like you, okay? I don't even know why you so bothered. We not even friends or acquaintances." Janae says, with a raised eyebrow. "Then why'd you invite me to the chapel with you?" Aaliyah responds, now so confused that she doesn't even know what's happening. "Cause the rest of my friends were busy and you were the last option." Janae deadpanned. Well rude.
Aaliyah scoffs, shaking her head and continues working on the TV, desperate to get Janae off of her mind even though Janae is right beside her, staring right at her. Aaliyah begins to notice that Janae is only staring at her and not doing anything else. "Well, are you just going to stare at me or are you going to work?" Aaliyah says sassily, earning an eye roll and scoff from Janae as she turns away from Aaliyah, continuing her work on the TV. Aaliyah rolled her eyes, wondering why she even wasted sleep on someone like Janae.

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘, which Aaliyah definitely wasn't excited for. While everyone else in the outside world were spending time with their family, she was stuck in prison. And the one person she thought she got along with the most, didn't even like her. Prison is definitely not the place for her.
Aaliyah walks into the visitation room, meeting her mother and her older sister, giving both of them a warm hug, accompanied with a grateful smile. "I'm so happy to see you guys." Aaliyah says with a smile, as this was the first time she smiled since she got here. "We're happy to see you too, sweetie." Pauline says, with a loving smile. It was a breath of fresh air to see the people she loved most in the world. Prison definitely drained her energy, and she didn't feel like herself in there. "I wish I didn't have to spend Christmas in this hellhole." *Aaliyah huffs, absolutely dreading the fact that she was even incarcerated. Pauline rubs Aaliyah's hand, giving her an sympathetic look.
Aaliyah just enjoyed the five minutes she had with the two people she loved most in the world, regardless of the fact that it was the shortest five minutes, as it felt like thirty seconds instead of five minutes.
