Trapped in the Headset (Luigi x Reader)

Immediately I felt like I was falling through an infinite void. The only thing in front of me was a menu screen.

"Hello! Welcome to the new Nintendo Vr system! Would you like to customize your character for this game? Say 'yes' if yes or say 'no' if you would like to stay yourself"
"Oh! Uh. . Yes!"
The moment I said yes, the room had a burst of color! After at least a minute, the colors died down and made the room a closet looking area? The closet opened and plenty of racks came out around the room. It ranged from any shirt imaginable, any pants anyone could ever imagine, hats, earrings, shoes, make-up even! The first thing I looked at first was the normal menu which had a whole list of things to change. It was kind of like the menu to tell people who you were or what you would like to be called and/or go by. I decided to fill out the chart:

As I pressed submit, I started to move on to the outfit part of this. I went for pretty basic stuff.
Pink Jacket with a golden looking zipper, a purple-ish/lavender sweatered top with navy blue skirt, white stockings, cute hair pins one being a green 1-up and the other a red mushroom, and dark brown boots! I decided to also change my hair type to (H/L/T) and to make it a ombre of my hair color and (F/c). (The girl in the cover if you want a visual view. If you don't like the outfit, feel free to change it whenever the outfit is introduced in this story!)

As It asked me for the last chance to change anything to do the look of my outfit or my visual profile, I clicked the No button and the colors came back. I closed my eyes this time because the colors were way too bright for me to see anything until I felt the feeling of. . . falling. . .? I opened my eyes only to see that I was falling!?

I turned around to look up only to see many other people like me who looked scared out of their minds. Continuing to fall, I saw one last glimpse of my body in the bed laying there. I felt trapped here though. . . almost like that's the reason why we're falling instead of spawning on the ground like normal Vr games are. Yet I can also see my entire body and move my arms and legs like I'm a real person and the fact I could feel me falling also helps my statement. Hopefully I'm just overthinking this whole situation and the game will play like every other Vr game we just have better senses! I reached my arm up into the air one last time before I felt myself hit the ground.

I instantly raised my head up and saw sand. . . everywhere. . . I could only assume I was in the Sarasaland section of the Mario map. Looking around I concluded that walking was my only option here. I only know the name of the place, I have no clue where or how to get out of the desert.

Walking around the desert is probably the most boring section of the Mario map to look around. . . It also seems that not a single person fell around the area either. . .
*buzz*
huh? Is that. . . My phone. . .?
I looked at my side pocket to find not only my phone, but it looked to be a manual? I guess not only did my phone transfer to my pocket because it was in my pocket, but so did a random manual? Maybe the producers of the game gave it to us to understand to play? Proceeding to read the manual it gave me instructions on how to friend people, trackers, and the map! Perfect! I closed the manual, put it in my pocket and swiped my fingers in a downward motion in the air. Just like the manual said, a little menu popped up showing all the options like:

-Leave
-Inventory
-Settings
-Tracker
-Friends list
-Map

I clicked on the Map button and a little map appeared on the little menu. Perfect! Seems like If I walk a bit more I'll reach a castle. As I kept walking, I realized that I was getting more and more thirsty as I continued. . . Did normal needs transfer here? Would it actually quench my thirst if I drank something here? I decided to check the inventory section of the menu and saw that I had 5 water bottles and 10 unknown foods. I clicked on the water bottle button and selected the 1x button. Then a water bottle spawned out of nothing out of the air and started to fall, luckily my reflexes caught it before it fell into the sand. I opened the bottle and took a sip out of the bottle before I realized I felt a little more refreshed than before. Guess it does transfer here. . . Wonder how they did that? Oh well! I continued to walk until I saw a castle in the distance. Yes! Shelter! I pray at least someone is here!

Out of breathe from running, I walked slowly and cautiously through the doors closing them behind me as I called out inside the castle hoping for an answer back.
"Hello!? Is anyone here!?"
No answer. Damn it. . .
"Is someone there!?"
Huh? I turned to the left to see a girl in a orange dress, brown hair, and daisies everywhere on her outfit including her crown.
"Princess Daisy?"
She looked at me with wide happy eyes with a huge smile on her face.
"Wow I haven't seen anyone here since I fell from the sky and ended up in this castle!"
I looked at her shocked but a reassuring face as well.
"The same thing happened to me. . . but I thought you were a Mario character?"
a uncomfortable silence filled the room. She looked at me like I was completely crazy?
"Well I come from Brooklyn. . . I come from a rich family so that's where the outfit comes from. . . My family bought this Vr for me to play the new Nintendo game because they wanted me to be the "Princess Daisy" here as well as I am in the real world. . ."
I was speechless. . . does that mean that. . .
"Does this mean that all the Mario characters are. . . real people. . .? Do they all come from Brooklyn!?"
Daisy looked at me and only shrugged.
"No clue. . All I know is that the Mario brothers do! We met up a while back on accident."
Silence filled the air once more. Ok so. . . Daisy and the Mario brothers live in Brooklyn like I do. . . would that also mean that they have a slight chance to be in this virtual world as I am? If so that would be super cool!
"Well It was really fun to be around but I think I'm going to log off for the day. I'm tired and I barely slept last night because I was so excited to buy this game and the headset. . "
I told Daisy as she almost looked sad that I had to leave.
"Could you friend me then? I'd love to talk to you later!"
I've never had a friend ever since I moved away from my parents. . .
"I don't mind!"
I replied as her eyes lit up as she waved her fingers to pull up the menu and send me a friend request. I accepted it and I waved my fingers down to leave until I realized something. . .
"The 'Leave' button is gone. . ."
Daisy's joyful facial expression then turned into a worried look. 
"What do you mean it's gone?"
I looked back at her with a serious tone.
"What I said, its just gone!"
She then checked her menu to see hers also gone.
"Wait mine too!? What's going on!?"
Soon enough the floor we were standing on felt like they were moving and shifting underneath us. Soon enough the bright colors came back and I felt myself shift into a whole different place. I opened my eyes and saw that we were in the Mushroom kingdom? I looked around and saw on my left was Daisy who was looking at me, then we looked around and everyone was just as much panic as us. Soon enough a bell could be heard from all around. I looked around to find where the bell was coming from until I looked up and saw that a red goop was bleeding through the sky. The goop then began to make a red sphere around the hoard of people. I looked back at Daisy who was also looking at the sky in pure horror. I looked back into the sky to see a huge shadow in the sky. 
"Hello Super Mario fans! Welcome to My newest game and the first Vr game in Nintendo History! Normally in your menu you would see a 'Leave' button! But sadly, we had to get rid of that option as some of you know. I want you all to be in my world for as long as it will take for at least one of you to beat the game! Taking your headset is no option either! The gear on your head if taken off or if you die, will fry your brain and you will die. I wanted to kind and give you all a mirror in your inventory. Go ahead and go to your inventory and equip the mirror!"
I see everyone around me pulling out the mirror including Daisy. I decided to follow in their footsteps and pull the mirror out of my inventory. It seemed to be a normal simple Mirror until I heard yells and screams coming from the distance and coming towards me like a wave. I looked back at Daisy only to see her yelling as well as a cloud of blue covered her entire body. Soon enough I noticed the same cloud forming over me as I covered my eyes so none of this unknown fog got into my eyes. 
"Daisy!?"
I yelled out in the direction that Daisy was in.
"Yeah I'm here! You ok!?"
I looked to the sound of her voice and was completely frozen in shock. . . She looked like the character Daisy but with more realistic features.
"Woah (N/n) You look different!"
I looked at her confused until she showed me her mirror to look at because I dropped mine and its broken now. . . Looking into the mirror, I looked exactly like myself in real life! I was even my original height. . . Soon enough everyone was their original self until the shadow spoke up again.
"Survive long enough for at least one person to finish the game, consider yourself back in the real world safe and sound. Goodluck players! Player count: 10,000 lets see how many are left by the end of this!" 
By the end of that message the shadow person left and the goop bubble vanished.

Panic. Panic everywhere. Everyone was running around like maniacs. I almost got trampled by people until I was being dragged by Daisy to the side.
"We should go explore the world together and find a way to beat this game"
I told Daisy as I walked off into a alleyway near by.
"Can't."
I looked back at Daisy who was still near the entrance of the alleyway.
"What do you mean you can't!? Why not!?"
I asked as she looked back with soft eyes.
"Look. . . I have friends that you probably don't know about that I need to go back to, they are probably terrified out of their mind right now and I need to help them. Talk to you later?"
I looked at her with sad yet determined eyes.
"Talk to you later orange peel."
She looked at me with playful eyes.
"Yeah ok rainbow, see you soon!"
As she shouted this at me, she ran back towards the center of the mushroom kingdom as I decided to head towards the field to find good power-ups to protect myself during this journey.

* 3 days later *

Apparently some meeting for the first Mario boss is being held somewhere around the Mushroom courtyard I just don't know wher-
"So everyone we all came here to talk about the first boss correct?"
I looked over to my right to see a small stage and a lot of bleachers with people somewhat spaced out around the stage. I walked over to one of the bleachers and sat on the very edge of the very top bleacher. I looked over to my left to see two people with cloaks over their head, one being red and the other green. They both seemed to have male body features or at least the body structure was male looking. . . The red one was shorter than the Green one from what I could see. They seemed to only talk to each other. It was kind of creepy, but I like minding my business' so I decided to look back at the stage and listen to the person on the stage.
"According to the manual, the first boss is Donkey Kong."
Donkey Kong!? Like the barrel type Donkey Kong!?
"Hold it right there!"
Huh. . ?
"Not sure if you know, but the name is (R/n)! You do know that people here have researched every Mario game right!? They could be in the audience right now!"
Whispers could be heard all around. . . I was one of the people who research the heck out of Mario games. . . They seem really upset at people like me though. . .
"Hey I'd like to counter this comment. The developers themselves made a handbook that tells us what all of the bosses do. So not only do the people who research this stuff have information, we do too."
(R/n) gave a mean glare to the other dude who stood up for people like me.
"What is your name anyway!? Random man!"
He looked back at (R/n) and in a deep monotoned voice he spoke.
"The name is (R2/n), you have no reason to be upset at these people, they are players just like us who are trying to get out of this crazy game."
(R/n) looked even more upset as he looked away and plopped himself on the bottom bleacher. (R2/n) then sat down a little farther away than (R/n) but still on the bottom bleacher. The main guy on the stage then began to continue with his speech.
"Well that happened, anyway! Just so we have safety for everyone, I suggest being in a pair of at least 3-4"
HUH!?
I looked left. Everyone had a pair of 3-4. I then looked to my Right and saw everyone having a pair of 3 to 4 except for the two people in hoodies. . . oh lord. . .I took a deep breathe and looked at the two in hoodies.
"Uhm. . . Hey. . .!"
They both looked over at me.
"So uh. . . You heard what the guy said. . . we need at least 3 people in a group. . . so uh . . . you two wouldn't mind if I joined your little group would you? It could just be this boss fight! I just need two other partners. . ."
They then looked at each other, nodded, then looked back at me. They both nodded at me as the one in red moved his motioned the menu to add me to the party. I accepted the invitations and looked at the top right corner and read the names. . .
