It was a chilly afternoon in February in a small town in Ohio.

An office building was buzzing full of people, though.

There was much work to be done.

One man in a small cubicle was working hard, Derek Hartman. He was working on a PowerPoint that he had to present in a meeting later that afternoon.

He was dressed in a blue shirt, a dark blue tie, tan pants. He had his dark blue blazer on the back of his chair. Kate had brought it home for him when they were first married and he worn it every day.

He was growing tired while he worked on it. However, he didn't mind because he was almost done with it.

As he worked, he noticed a picture of his wife from the corner of his eye.

He glanced at it with his big blue eyes and then he smiled. He sighed and then ran his fingers through his dirty blonde hair.

It was from their wedding day. He had said something to her that had made her laugh, and the photographer had taken the photo at the perfect moment.

He then returned to the project that he was working on, and as he did, he heard one of his friends, Dawn, behind him, "Hey, Derek," she started.

Derek spun his chair around, "Hey Dawny, what's up?" He asked.

"Do you want coffee? I just made a run and picked up for everyone with how busy we've all been this morning."

"Oh yeah, sure, I'm getting tired anyway."

Dawn handed him a cup, and his friend Louis stood beside her, "How's it going there, Derek, are you almost done?" He asked.

Derek sighed, "Yeah, I'm almost done," he answered before sipping his coffee, "How's your article coming along?"

Louis shrugged, "It's coming along. I'm not done yet, but they don't need it until later today."

"Well then, I recommend you get on that," their other friend Tina added as she came to the cubicle, "Derek, are you almost done yet? You have a meeting in one hour."

Derek sighed, "No, not yet," he replied, "I'll get it done. I have one more slide; it won't take me that long."

Tina smiled at him, "I know, just don't get distracted."

"Well, if Louis stands here, I may not get anything done," Derek answered with a smile.

Louis laughed, and Tina crossed her arms as she looked at him.

Louis looked at her, then walked away without saying another word.

"You finish your PowerPoint!" Tina told him as she grabbed a coffee from Dawn.

Derek laughed as his friends walked away and then worked some more on his project.

He enjoyed his work friends' company; he enjoyed talking to anyone, really.

Derek smiled as he got back to work.

Across town, his other half worked in a tiny Tuxedo shop.

She was petite but had curves in all the right places that her husband liked. She had long blonde hair. Often times she was caught wearing a pair of jeans and a decent looking shirt. She to had blue eyes.

She spent her days fitting men for weddings, proms,  and other events that they had going on.

Though she never did it alone, her best friend Julie was always there to help even when they had a busy day which was never a big deal. They had very few customers in their store at a time.
