You only said yes because staying cooped up in your freezing apartment, staring at crime scene photos was starting to take a toll on you. Maybe if you got out, had a couple drinks and tried to socialize you'd feel somewhat better. Or maybe end up with a new story to write about.
"Remind me to never ask you for fashion advice Bea. You don't take me seriously." You said handing her violet sequence top back to her.
"WHAT?! Of course I do, but if your gonna be that way then remind me to never give you my professional fashion advice." She retorted.
You chuckle. " Okay okay, maybe it's just not my style. Thank you for trying to help though."
"Anything for my favorite roomie." She said jokingly. "Besides I can always help you do your makeup."
"Very true Beatrice, very true. I'll call for you if I need your help." You said already on the way to your room.
"OKAYY!" Bea quietly shouts from her room down the hall.
As you walk into your room Gizmo brushes past your ankles and sprints onto his bed. His tiny paws thumping along the wooden floor. You close the door and star into the abyss that is your closet. Most of it is winter clothes considering the Oakley weather being below 40° at all times, but there was definitely some cute items.
You decided on a black lacy tank top, with a oversized/cropped sheer black sweater over, and your most flattering pants. Paired with your favorite shoes as well. But it still felt like something was missing.
"BEA?" You shouted peering out of your room. "Comere I need help with my outfit!" And with those words she quickly walked over to your room.
"Whatdoyouneedhelpwith??" She said so fast that her words slurred together.
"Okay first off, breathe please. And second I feel like I'm missing something?" You said doubting yourself a little bit.She seemed to stare at you for a good while and abruptly spoke. " Oh well your missing accessories!" Of course how could you have forgotten.
"I think you should wear some dainty rings and a good statement necklace, not extravagant just..pretty." She said wholeheartedly.
" Okay thank you! I have good one in mind." You exclaimed. This would be your first dorm party since graduation, something in you hoped it wasn't as bad as you remember but another part knows that's wishful thinking. Your brain can only remember walking in on your ex with a classmate of yours. It was two years ago but it's still somewhat of a sore subject.
You now had your hair and makeup done and for a casual party, you looked really good. Bea and Clyde were about finished getting ready as well, Bea's hair effortlessly put up with stray curls littered here and there. Her eyelids were a deep saturated silver eyeshadow with cat eyeliner and big lashes. Rocking a sports jersey style t shirt dress that had an embroidered 99 on the chest and the collar cut short. With sheer black tights and black & white Adidas. Small leather bag around her shoulder and her black puffer jacket thrown over it all.
Clyde had a similar style to Bea's. He had his Microlocs in a half up half down hairstyle, his thin oval prescription glasses on the slope of his nose. Sporting a faded beige and navy colorblock windbreaker with a black tank underneath and baggy jeans slightly hiding his old doc martens. His keychain clipped on his front belt loop. Grey polyester scarf sat around his neck.
You double checked the house and made sure Gizmo had food and no fire hazards where found. You threw on your leather jacket, grabbed your bag, locked the door, and made your way to Clyde's car.
