It was the day I was to meet my soulmate. With 1 minute and 24 seconds left, I sat alone in an empty train carriage at night. I put my legs up on the seat in front of me and looked down at my black knee high socks. "I hope they don't think I'm too dark looking." I fretted.
52 seconds to go, and the train started to slow for the next station. Nerves filled my stomach and I suddenly felt sick. "Please don't have an anxiety attack! They'll think you're insane!" I thought to myself.
15 seconds left and the train finally stopped.
10 seconds left and the door opened.
5 seconds left and two people walk onto my carriage, an old woman followed by a sweet looking boy.
The clock ticked to zero and as I looked up I caught the boy looking at me. I decided to not be shy and introduce myself. I didn't know how this worked.
"H-hi, I'm ollie." I said with a shy smile.
"Hey." He said awkwardly. What was going on? Didn't he know?
"Um, I guess we're soul mates." I mumbled.
"That can't be right, I've still got 4 months left on mine."
I grabbed at his wrist and what he said was true. It was then that I realised - the person I belonged to, did not belong to me.
