~Flashback~

“What is this? A thousand question questionnaire?” Ruka asked staring at the packet of papers in her hand. I’m happy that I don’t have to do that since I’m not able to go to to high school yet since I’m not old enough. I was going to be home schooled until then. I was just waking up when I heard her voice. I think that’s the thing that got me to wake up completely. She could be pretty loud when she wanted to.

“Keep your voice down.” Aidou said, shifting the pureblood on his back trying to get into a more comfortable position. I stirred, feeling Aidou shift me. Like I said before, I was already awake, but I was too lazy to open my eyes. “But, Chairman Cross definitely has a bad personality. Hand it in by the end of tonight?” I would have giggled, but I had to keep up the act of pretending to be asleep. If he would have known that I was awake he would have probably made me walk. I don’t want to walk at the moment. I was comfy.

“It’s because you try and answer seriously.” Kain had a point there. He put so much thought into those questions. They all stopped for some reason. I could hear someone move, but that was about it. I opened my eyes only to see Yuuki standing at the bottom of the staircase. I was tempted to jump off Aidou’s back to go hug her, but then I remembered what Kaname had told me. She wouldn’t remember me.

Aidou’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts before I dived too deep into my head. “Why is a human child here?” He asked the rest trying to be as quiet as possible. “She’s looking this way. My fan?” I almost laughed at that. Aidou didn’t have any fans. The only one who even remotely acts like his fan is me, but I don’t count. I’m still only a kid, with a major kiddie crush on Aidou. Though, I was only a year younger than Yuuki and him. My crush will probably fade away as time goes by. He was just so nice and cheerful. Any girl would fall for that, right?

“You were laughed at.” Ruka stated, clutching the papers in her hand. My eyes closed again, not wanting to keep them open for too long, so that nobody knows I’m awake. “Don’t cause trouble before we get into the school, right? I don’t want my school life with Lord Kaname to be hurt through something stupid.” I wanted so badly to agree with her. School with my brother would be so fun. Aidou would be there as well, which makes everything better. After Ruka’s little input about Kaname, they all walked away leaving Yuuki there all alone. She was probably waiting for Kaname. The only vampire that she ever wants to see.

“I’m going to take Kasumi to her room. I’ll see you two later.” I knew they nodded their heads, even though I couldn’t see them. Aidou continued to walk for a while before he opened a door, which was probably mine, and set me down on my bed. I opened my eyes, looking into Aidou’s blue ones. They were so pretty. “Were you awake the whole time?” I nodded, rubbing any leftover sleep from my eyes, becoming tired once again. “Why didn’t you say anything? I could have let you down.”

“I wanted you to carry me some more.” Aidou didn’t say anything, making me feel like I did something wrong. “I’m sorry. Next time I’ll tell you when I’m awake.” He smiled, pulling me into a hug. At first I was surprised but then I hugged him back. I loved Aidou’s hugs. They were so friendly.

Aidou pulled back putting me at an arms distance away from him. “I didn’t mind. While you were pretending to be asleep, we could have had a wonderful conversation.” I frowned, saddened by that missed opportunity. Even if it was just for a little bit I would have loved to have a conversation with Aidou. “There’s always a next time. Now you have to go to sleep.”

I frowned again, grabbing his hands before he could pull the covers away from the bed. “Do I have to go to sleep? I’m not even tired yet.” He chuckled, lifting me up a little so that he could get at the covers.
